I'm sharing these lyrics from memory so there might be a few mistakes. Here goes- Up up with people, you meet them wherever you go. Up up with people, they're the best kind of folks we know. If more people were for people all people everywhere, there'd be a lot more people to care about and a lot more people who care.

Up! Up with people!

You meet ‘em wherever you go

Up! Up with people!

They’re the best kind of folks we know

If more people were for people

All people ev’rywhere

There’d be a lot less people to worry about

And a lot more people who care

My memory says you’re right except the last line: There’d be a lot less people to worry about and a lot more people who care

My sister and I were in an Up with People group in L.A. and loved every minute. So positive and uniting. Thanks for posting the lyrics.

Trump, a huge sports fan, recently told the New York Post he won’t attend the Super Bowl.

That's reason enough to watch!

I sang with the local "Up with people" group in the mid sixties. It was a fine idea for a 16-year-old. Twenty years later, Commissioner Pete Rozelle had the right idea, though. I had no idea the thing lasted that long.

I was an exchange student to Denmark in Summer 1977 and one of the students I met on a tour of Copenhagen was a member of Up with People! We stayed in touch for years after, and he eventually became a flight attendant for a major airline. I lost track of him after the mid-1980s.

They sang so clearly of hope, and progress being made.

"Moon Rider" from the album "People are the Energy" in the 1970s had lyrics based on experience of an astronaut seeing the world from outer space - "All I can see is home...I see the world without any borders, without any fighting, without any fear"

"What Color is God's Skin?" is a father singing to his son - "It's black, brown, it's yellow, it's red, it is white - Everyone's the same in the Good Lord's sight."

And lastly, "Who are the Good Guys?" sang about "the havers & the had." I think that's an excellent way to point out how our country is being split - those who have, & the rest who have been had.

People are the energy!

Trump's comment about the upcoming Super Bowl halftime acts of sowing "hatred" and being a "terrible" idea shows the ignorance and racism of his stupidity and poor example of a president to the whole of our country. I so laughed at the Up With People group entertaining for football. They, or an offshoot, came to my Dallas high school in the early 1970's and I was then thrilled. Who can't get the song out of their head now?!

When I was a kid in the 70s in Kansas City we hosted some Up With People performers at our house. Like exchange students, but only for a couple of days.

My stepdaughter’s ex was with Up With People in his youth. Don’t know if he went to the Super Bowl.

I was in the group myself, 1967 as a high school sophmore or junior. Was fun to sing, still have the songbook and met some nice kids. Cheesy, yeah...the times ahead weren't unlike the present times. The Viet Nam War, the deceit of the government and plenty of hate to go around.
