Let's all take a weekend to celebrate the resilience of the people of New Orleans and remember those they have lost.

Thank you Mitch Landrieu! We don't want a dictator in this country! Democracy is what made America great - not Trump!

Mitch Landrieu is well-spoken, empathetic, and inspiring. More leaders like this, please! Hope to hear more from him.

Let's take a few moments to acknowledge the reality that Waveland, MS was ground zero for Katrina and not New Orleans. New Orleans got flooded but Waveland was completely underwater. MS took the direct hit but gets ignored. I moved to Biloxi, MS five years after Katrina - there is lots of recovery here now but you can still see the scars and destruction left behind and the stories here are just as dramatic - I know of a man who walked for three days, barefoot through the devastation to find his family. I know of people who lost EVERYTHING. Yes there was great tragedy in NOLA but it isn't the only story that should be told!

You are right that Mississippi gets forgotten when discussing Katrina. New Orleans flooded because the levees broke not during the storm but afterward.

All Democrats should be speaking as clearly, plainly and sincerely as Mitch Landrieu!

I’m on Episode 2 of “Come Hell and High Water.” I remember it so vividly. I worked at a hospital in Ft. Smith, AR, and a church a block or two over was organizing aid for Katrina evacuees. We took this very seriously, as these were now “our” families. They will forever be.
