Our airports in Huntsville and Birmingham Alabama are not airing Kristi Noem’s video thank goodness. No Kings 2.0 in Huntsville had a little over 3k protesters and there were a mixed bag of people there White, Black , Asian, Latino and mixed race people. It was great to see them all there. Even a neurosurgeon who had just finished his shift at the hospital joined us briefly in the protest since the protest was just across the street from the hospital. Protests should grow larger and louder.
One-time feel good protests, WITHOUT any clear demands and without any real staying power (days, weeks, months - whatever time period if needed to secure the demands) are useless against authoritarian regimes. There must be a clear demand, There must be organized non-violent protesting in a highly symbolic locale associated with the demand until the demand is secured. Demand No. 1? That all ICE personnel fully reveal their faces and badge numbers!
I'm glad to hear of pushback and resistance and glad The Contrarian does print "good news" as well as not. It's very needed amidst so many destructive policies going on. Onwards and upwards.
I agree more articles need to focus on the growing resistance to help counter resignation. Autocracy only works when the citizenry feels defeated, dispirited, and stops fighting back.
In my small county , Kitsap, in Western Washington State, we had several thousand protesters in at least four different towns. The two most common themes were patriotism and humor. Bremerton is a Navy town, and a lot of protesters were veterans.
My impression of the attendance on No King's Day 2 here in Little Rock was that it was quite a bit smaller than that of No King's Day 1. Also, I saw very few black people, even though Little Rock has a sizable black population - about 40%. That is very unfortunate, especially for the incredibly smart and likable Chris Jones, who is running against French Hill for US Representative in AR2 in 2026..
A $230 million taxpayer dollars shakedown, bulldozing of the East Wing, bombing critics & a meltdown over Reagan criticizing tariffs…
The president’s family has pocketed more than $1.8 billion in cash and gifts since Trump’s return to the White House according to the Center for American Progress including more than $1.2 billion from their cryptocurrency side hustle. Then Trump on 10/23 pardoned the founder of UAE backed Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, who helped launch Trump family’s cryptocurrency platform World Liberty Financial with a massive $2 billion deal. Just another day of appalling corruption. Get up, stand up, wake up...I am AntiFa. #Resist the fraudster authoritarians.
