I agree with you partway. Yes, longer training is a good idea in most states. But let's be honest, the dirty ones are well aware that they are breaking the law and abusing their authority. More training would not change that. They LIKE abusing their power.
It would be better if we had a reliable way to keep them from being hired in the first place.
All cops that use excessive force should be reprimanded. If there is evidence of racism they should be removed immediately and permanently. I’m glad this black lady is getting compensation.
A whole lotta dirty cops need to go to jail. For a long time. They need to face the exact same punishment any gang member with a record would get for the same violent crimes.

Police work attracts the power hungry. It always has and it always will. The trick is to make is clear to the would-be abusers that they WILL be punished for breaking their own rules. It starts with the honest cops speaking up and testifying in court against the dirty ones. And then it needs the public to support this housecleaning effort.

Good point. The other cop intervened, and pulled the offender off of the woman, getting her medical attention. And yes, he was arrested, fired, and charged. This lady didn't look like she weighed 100 pounds. What in the hell was wrong with him?? I could guess.....
Women are in deep trouble. All women , maybe especially Black women. Deep trouble. Read the New Yorker report about the Tates. There is a broad entitlement among men, even some so- called progressive men. The second Trump said what he said about pussy grabbing and got away with it in 2016….
