The issue that Trump wants to downplay and dismiss domestic violence is no great surprise; by now we all know who and what he is...at least anyone who has been paying attention to his antics does. To me the bigger issue is the religious leaders that sit there and listen to his rhetoric with no rebukes or challenges. What kind of religion do they practice that approves of behavior such as his? And, how can they call themselves real leaders if all they do is follow Trump around like his personal lackeys, rubber stamping everything he says and does? Are these leaders really content to 'lead their flocks' down Trump's path of immorality, cruelty, and destruction? Domestic violence is NOT a statistic to be thrown about in speeches for political posturing, it is a real problem that needs to be properly identified and dealt with in every case...we need to call it what it is. And, we need to call Trump what he is as well...a misogynistic, self-serving, egomaniacal, dictator.

Far too many of those "religious leaders" are themselves either abusers or subscribe to the first century and older shibboleth that the man is the head of the household and all others are his chattel property. They have expropriated the first century cultural norms of Rome and its outlying provinces to override the fundamental set of messages that their so called Messiah preached and lived. Were he alive today he would brand them as hypocrites and serpents.

Or let's talk about his goddamn wife. What was "just locker room talk" to Melania, who after all has her gold in a vault, is real fckng life to women with better character than she'll ever have.

#MeToo was not just a slogan or a fad. Ask any woman in this country if she has ever been sexually harassed or abused. Ask any one of us. We all have more than one story to tell, and we don't expect to get millions of dollars for it. But these days, we do expect to be heard and--oh, yes--believed.

that is a yes! I learned as a young

girl to be careful of being around men who were creepy.

No surprise from the orange dick, but not shocked by religious leaders either. Patriarchy is a REAL THING.

Here I am, 52 years later, still trying to kick the legs out from under that stool. Women will have to save this country, because the men sho' didn't.

When I heard him say it was a hoax I really wanted to b—— slap him right then and there. How the hell could anyone say such a effing hateful thing to a group of women who have been sexually abused, assaulted or raped as young girls and young women? Only a shameless demented demon would ever say such things. Just those words alone is enough to let us all know that he doesn’t take any kind of violence seriously and it doesn’t matter to him who or what groups of people it’s directed towards. He’s a demon 😈

A real Sandy Hook moment. Just like Alex Jones. No surprise that all those hateful assholes sound alike.

One more way he wants to be like Putin. Domestic violence was decriminalized in Russia a number of years ago. Why don't the people who want to live like this go spend six months or a year in Russia and see if they still like it?

This is so disheartening-women’s wellbeing is of no concern whatsoever to this despicable man, let alone any abuse to her. Of any kind! How any woman could vote for him is beyond me - unexplainable

What about the number of police

officers who are killed

or injured when responding to domestic violence calls? Guess he doesn't think they count either.

Years ago when I went on a police ride-along I was told by that officer that domestic violence calls were the most dangerous. And I see it by the police news on television when another report of a fallen officer is made from a domestic violence call.

An argument or heated discussion is one thing, violence against a spouse is another. It sounds as if Trump is trying to diminish/dismiss the criminality of domestic violence. He is likely well acquainted with it himself, or at least violence agains women.

The other theme at this gathering g of Christian Nationalists was how they don't have enough of a voice and are being marginalized. Trump indicated his belief that they are, or should be, more influential than others by the mere fact that they claim Christianity. This outrageous statement is the entire reason he wants to claim his own religious belief without ever displaying them in the tiniest insta ce. That this gets a pass by mainstream media is the outrage.

They are the loudest braying out there. They get every consideration from the fckng Supreme Court. "Help! Help! I'm being oppressed!"

Once again this president proves that, in his opinion, to “Make America Great Again” we would have to move back to the culture and mores of the 1950s. This opinion is not shared by the majority of Americans.
