Re Nancy's video announcing her retirement. It was quiet, dignified, factual, focused on her city and its people. Contrast this with the boastful, self-aggrandizing untruths that come out of the president's mouth every time he opens it. But he'll miss this contrast, it's way above his comprehension.

And Nancy Pelosi has bigger balls than all of her male "colleagues" in the House and Senate, on both sides of the aisle, combined. We need many more women like her, not gutless wonders like brown nose Mike Johnson or Hakeem Jeffries.

I know a lot of people think she is way too progressive, but I think AOC would be a great successor to Nancy next time the Dems are up. She is fearless and her position would change to slightly more moderate, if she held that job. As far as I'm concerned, her position does not have to change. This country needs to air out these old white religionists and their women, who are even worse.

I love Nancy Pelosi. She IS still great. She ain’t dead yet. Love, love, love, love her. What have YOU done to be great? Get your ass out and vote.

Boy, do you feel better now after posting such hateful comment? None of what you write has ANYTHING to do with my comment. Forgot to take your pills yesterday?

I apologize for the misunderstanding. I was agreeing with you. The YOU was meant for the entire country and the GOTV (plus crude word) was a challenge to EVERYONE to get out and vote (while I was completing GOTV cards for the TN special election next month). I have completed 100s of cards with postage costing around $80/100, I vote, I work the polls and I attend peaceful protest rallies. Most importantly, I agree with you.

Pelosi has a humanity that no other has had especially the former and the present male speaker(s). The fact she knew her fellow congress members so well and their districts was what made her so powerful as a speaker.

Nancy Pelosi famously said:

You don't have to be smart to be Speaker. You just have to know how to count!

Of course, she's smart as a whip!

And one of her children said: She can slice you up verbally with a knife so sharp that you don't even realize you're bleeding-- and that's exactly what she did when she gave Don the Con a "clap out" following a State of the Union speech.

But in spite of how the Repugnican'ts tried to caricature her, she was much more of a pragmatist than a "wine and cheese San Francisco liberal". She was smart enough to know that even AOC would fall flat on her face running in a rural/exurban swing district in Iowa, and that a centrist like Dan Goldman wouldn't get the time of day running in a district that was largely made up of places like Berkeley. Her approach, especially in 2018 was just "Win, baby, win!" and if that meant candidates needed to distance themselves from her (and maybe even accuse her parents of not having been married) she would not be offended. She was also smart enough to understand Reagan's saying "I'd rather get 50% of what I want than 100% of nothing"

Very interesting, but ladies, she isn’t dead! Just retiring. Too much past tense speech.

Just what I was going to say! Not an obituary, though I loved the reminiscing.
