Congratulations and 'belated' welcome to Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva. I applaud her emphasis on "public education, our environment, affordability, and protecting our democracy". Her priorities are absolutely in the right place. She certainly now knows who Mike Johnson really is. May she thrive and contribute.

Personally, I'm skeptical that the Epstein files will have the smoking gun we've been led to expect. In the past, the Repugs have fought hammer and tongs to prevent release of things that, once released, prove to be no big deal. The fact that Democrats fought so hard to release just makes them look stupid. Again.

If, however, the files do incriminate Trump, I hope he gets entered into the sex offender registry. Then DC can notify all the neighbors that a sexual deviate is living in the White House.

Putting myself in the place of Arizonans, I would be mightily pissed to have the will of voters illegally circumvented like this, and for such a long time. I know exactly how long it was, because we are a federal worker household that has been forced to live life by the calendar of Republican-forced shutdowns, when all we want to do is do our jobs. You know, the ones you people pay for in taxes?

It'd be great in one or two other Arizona districts turned blue in 2026. They've certainly seen high level GOP governance perform in a deeply unflattering light.

Do you really think Trump's Justus Dept. has left the Epstein Files intact after they vetted and prepped Epstein's co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell ? ! !

No, imho, I don't think that T's Justice Dept. has left those files "intact" at all. Also, they've had plenty of time to alter those files before and now during the shutdown. It was all ready made public that he hired people to go over those files with precision to identify any places in which his name was mentioned. Why would he have done that, I wonder. T would never allow all those names to be made public, including his own. T seems to have access to everything. I sure hope I'm wrong because the victims so deserve the truth to be known and for justice to be served. It's so overdue.

And let's see how the worm turns. Anyone willing to bet against Ghislaine Maxwell getting pardoned and allowed to leavve the country?

Seems to me that her life hangs in the balance here. She may be safer if she speaks publicly.

Speaker Johnson gave at least a half dozen excuses to not swear her in. He was no doubt playing games. He’s disgusting 🤮 I don’t blame the Arizona AG and Ms Grijalva for suing him she deserved way better than that. Make no mistake it was all about the Epstein files.

Let's hope the voters of LA-4 have more access to news than just FOX. Be nice if Johnson got turned out of office for this despicable term in office.

Wow she is impressive!

Johnson will be shown through history to be the small and myopic man he is. I hope the Democrats pour a disproportionate amount of advertising dollars into LA-4 in 2026. There doesn't need to be much development money spent. Recordings of his smarmy speeches and responses over the past 6 months write themselves.

HCR likened him (Johnson) to a smiling puppet on a shelf in one of her YouTube chats a few weeks ago. (It was one of the “What the Heck Just Happened?” chats that she has with Joanne Freeman on Saturday mornings.) HCR is Heather Cox Richardson.

Or.... sort of like a bobble head doll.

Oh yeah, totally bobble head. I’m all in on that one. 🤣

Thanks to both of you. This may sound silly. One of the first things I noticed about her was the smile in her voice that is lacking amongst those in the regime. That smile in the voice goes so far.

Congratulations, Rep. Grijalva! 💙 I am relieved you are finally sworn in and allowed to do your job. Heaps of shame on Maga Mike for making you and your constituents wait so long. All the best to you and your staff. I know that just like your dad, you will be a tremendous leader for your district and the nation. Buen suerte!

“Grijalva explicitly waived any right to pomp.” That gave me a chuckle. That she’s waited this long and that her constituents were without representation and even an opportunity to reach out to her for help in an official capacity is outrageous.
