Something just hit me in my gut. When Liz Shuler said there are checkpoints with armed personnel stationed around DC it reminded me of the last time I saw something like this: it was driving through the Soviet Union from Leningrad to Moscow to Odessa in 1970. At that time, even Russian citizens had to carry internal passports, and there were checkpoints along the road with soldiers checking, in our case, our passports and visas along with our approved schedule, to make sure we were authorized to enter - and exit the city. So now we're getting to the checkpoint stage. Whoever is running this show, (and obviously it's not Trump, he can't mentally follow a plan for more than 5 minutes), really knows how to throw together a good ol' fashioned authoritarian government.
Labor unions have, in my opinion, been fighting the exact same thing that we are now facing, for AT LEAST the last century.
Money, power (generated by money) and greed (generated by both money and power).
When labor speaks, listen. They have been fighting this systemic evil long enough to know how to win.
