With that whiny voice and vapid lyrics, I never could hear/see the talent. She was more exhibitionist than a musical talent.

Personally although never much of a fan, I think that she is great.

If Madonna didn't give a hoot what people thought of her, she'd retire somewhere she can give zero effs in peace. I see all this media attention as a desperate move to be relevant. (Please don't take this as a criticism of her fans or talent; that's not my intention.)

Madonna lost her mom at a very young age to breast cancer. She was a smart girl and creative, but could sing well enough to get a break.

Never was a big fan, although I enjoyed dancing to her music many times. Too bad Madonna doesn't seem to see cosmetic surgery as something done to bow down the patriarchy and make a living.

Loved the review and relevance. I know of Madonna and loved the Jackson 5. The other person I’ve never heard of. I wish I could jump around like madonna. We’re all weird but none of us are as famous as madonna. 6 kids will keep you in line, maybe. From the looks of things, madonna keeps everything in line :) You gotta’ be tough in earthquake country.

I got most way through the you tube included. Madonna is so complicated. I haven’t listened to your story yet. My head (and heart) are spinning. I can’t wait to hear how you unwrap this. The closest I got to Coachella was Palm Springs for a white (as in clothing) dance @ the Dinah Shore now Nabisco golf area. “Pink” @ the white. Oh well. I was lounging by the hotel pool when the pavement began undulating, I mean 4-6 feet and everyone ran out of the building. The look on this southerners face must have been stricken when the Californian lounging a few feet away looked at me and “yep, your in an earthquake”. The pool water made waves one could have surfed. There were plexiglass wall windbreakers, one that if scaled led to a 30’ drop to the highway below. I contemplated walking on water and jumping, well, to what, safety? OMG. Literally, the party was over, I was just staying the night to get a flight home the next day. Then about 2AM came an aftershock that jolted me awake. I actually went to the event to check out the area to retire. The hotel clerk told me not to worry in my 6th floor room (what, so I had a view of a flat desert out one side and a mountain wall on the other) b/c this was an earthquake proof structure. As it were, the epicenter was mexico @ 7.something (I know this is a logarithmic scale and the degree of something makes a huge difference) and by the time it timblered (sp?) in Palm Springs, it was 6.7. The aftershock was in the 4s. I’ve retired on the east coast (and felt a few earthquakes - no drama). Looking forward to your parsing Madonna’s performance at Coachella.
