As the advertisers say, "but wait, there's more." Trump, in a fit of pique, invoked another byzantine rule that supposedly allowed him to invoke a 15% tariff across the board. He's not done yet, and with hope, neither is the supreme court.

Sure, it's easy for big companies like Fedex, General Motors, etc, to figure out exactly how much they paid out in tariffs and to send Uncle Sam a bill for that money. However, those companies didn't pay all of it out of their pockets. Some, probably even most, of the tax was passed along to their customers (aka you and me). How will they ever figure out how much to refund us? Or will they just keep the money. I bet on the latter, and probably a class-action suit to follow.

The tariffs were illegal. They should have to pay them a refund and a receipt or a record of the tariff should exist. Even if it is a tax return refund.
