CBS knows more about equal time requirements than Colbert and advised him of such. Colbert (and possibly CBS) decided to turn this into a political stunt to get more eyeballs on the interview via YouTube. And all without having to interview Jasmine Crockett...
FuCC the Ellisons, CBS and their shit line up of CRAP! They haven't had a decent TV show in decades and their news is essentially useless nonsense. I haven't watched since they put Katie Couric at the anchor desk! What a joke!
BOYCOTT CBS AND THEIR ADVERTISERS and watch how FuCC'ing fast they turn that phony "policy" around! Let them continue to lick the Dear Leaders Fat Felon ass! They're welcome to it! We'll remember this and ALL those that facilitated the crimes and the anti American BS when the Fat Felon is in prison with is boyfriend Big Beautiful Bill! Then, we'll come for you traitors! ....Count on it!
Whoa. Talk about unintended consequences (or just being stupid). Because of your article, I watched the 14 minute Colbert/Talarico interview. This brouhaha pushed me to check out Talarico for the first time - before now I didn't care to know more than there was a contentious primary between Talarico and Crockett.
So thanks CBS and Meredith Blake. Great interview!
"CBS Tries to Kill Stephen Colbert's Interview With James Talarico..."
Doubtful that's how it went down. It's more likely CBS told Colbert that if the interview did air on his show that any opponents like Jasmine Crockett could get equal time if requested. The Democrats and the media don't actually want Crockett to win the primary because they feel she'd lose the general election in the fall. Let that sink in, Meredith. Steven Colbert, the media and the Democratic Party don't want to elevate the black female in a Democratic primary against the white male. No one on the Left will say that in public. It's easier to just blame the Trump administration. Besides, the ploy worked - the interview was still seen on YouTube, and the rest of the media is now focusing on Talarico, elevating his campaign. Now if I'm wrong, Colbert will have another interview with Crockett, announce it on his show and release it on YouTube...I'm not holding my breath.
Well CBS may very well go the way of WAPO destroyed by a person who has no business owning a news organization.....................

I don't watch CBS news, but I have to admit that some of my favorite shows are on CBS.
I love Matlock and Elsbeth as well as Tracker. I may just DVR them and watch them on my own.
I love "60 Minutes" but it has been tarnished by Weiss.
Why are all these people bowing to Trump? He's a jerk, a bully, an idiot!
He should be locked in a padded cell with cartoons all day!

Mercy, mercy, mercy. Thanks for sharing the clips. I’d seen one, but hadn’t watched the interview yet.
I hope you cover COLBERT’s final episode & track his hopefully bright future …
What other President has ‘put his thumb on’ the scales of American news & entertainment as much as this bohunk? He’s a professional THUG!
But, hey, he attracts big stars like Kid Rock, so...
🙃 Two write-offs past their best-by date! 💥
Just ask Stormy and Melania.

It's nuts to think that speech was freer when I was growing up in the 1970s under Richard Nixon.
