FISCAL common sense and conservatism. Like we had under Clinton/Gore. Remember? Selective tax increases and spending restraint. Those were times not under a Republican President. Eisenhower did it, but no GOP president since Reagan. They've just been spend, spend, spend. Think about Pete Hegseth right now! Kristi Noem and her airplanes. Ugh.

$40 trillion in national debt. An amount greater than our annual GDP. 1/3 of it owned by foreign investors who, by definition, don't have a ton of loyalty to anything beyond the market value and will sell when the spirit moves them. Our annual debt service is running neck and neck with our Pentagon budget! I am staggered at how the GOP (Reagan, W Bush and, by a factor of 3, Trump) have so little regard for our nation's annual deficits that they have allowed our accumulated debt to balloon.

One would think that, by this time, the world would know that "Trickle Down Economics" is a complete fiction and that only the richest of the rich would continue pushing.

It’s ironic that Bel was a student in Ohio. JD Vance has Bel’s blood on his hands; HE’S the one who vilified Haitians.

To the Democrats in Congress:

With the advent of Labor Day, we are entering dangerous times. For the Democratic Party it is crucial to support your grassroots activists and voters of all demographics who are willing to stand up for democracy by facing the difficulties of voter obstruction, as well as your candidates.

Voter suppression and its sibling, voter intimidation, can affect the turnout in disastrous ways. Not voting because of fear or because of apathy are equally lethal. Momentum is accruing and taking advantage of it through active participation in these next two months is vital. It is the turnout that will win these elections.

Canvassing, the most effective form of voter interaction, is rewarding in its functions of not only getting out the vote, it also develops a sense of unity, security and community, a common purpose. The memory of long ago conversations, as well as recent ones, from neighbors who answered my knock still gives me the ability to maintain my optimism.

All this is to suggest, to encourage you, personally, and every Democrat in every Congressional seat and every staff member on every committee to go out and knock on some doors, talk one-to-one, offer that understanding of unity and community. You will have more impact than most and the rewards will flow both ways. The vote is the foundation of what makes America America, reassert that it is worth that wait on line, support their courage to walk through lies and intimidation and be a true patriot, just because you encouraged them and they voted.

We the People Do Not Consent.
