Hello fellow ‘foster fail’! What a beautiful fail. We also fostered for years. We fell for our two fails, brother and sister, when a neighbor wanted to adopt them. She had adopted another of our babies, but made her into an outdoor cat as a kitten. She was promptly run over. I wasn’t about to let that happen to these two. I told her we were adopting these two. They looked up at me like I had sucker written on my forehead. That was 14 years ago. The little boy passed away last year. His sister is very much with us living the best life.

It may be a typo, but the skink is an actual lizard in Virginia. There are several different kinds.
