Dogs can show us how to live in the moment right now. Priorities.

Nothing like humor to help us cope/even fight back this horrible period of political shit.

If you want the picture of my fabulous, picture perfect dog, let me know. Everyone thinks he‘s beautiful (Cavalier King Charles)Michele

I have no doubt Willie would have offered coffee and cake or perhaps scones to your new neighbors if he had opposable thumbs. And if this incident happened during the pandemic, then toilet paper was the best welcoming gift ever.

I think the pet of the week is my favorite part of "the contrarian". I hope it never ends, just revisit with fresh photos and new stories. I hope there are some cats. In 1961 I had 3 surgeries during the school year regarding my polio. I had a black cat named Snookems who stayed with me through each recovery period in a spika body cast (I was 10, no cable, no remote for the tv, my widowed mother worked, my grandmothers and 1 grandfather were dead, my remaining grandfather worked, my brothers were in school) Snookems kept me company. I loved that cat.

How does a dog get to be a Contrarian Pet of the Week? Willie seems like a very good boy. Becca, a rescue from Mississippi, is a very good girl ... even after living on the streets in Natchez for months. No fancy lineage. She would like to be part of Contrarian, too.

Awww. We have a liver English springer spaniel too. She and our other dogs are doing more than their fair share of keeping us barely sane and reminding us to still laugh these days.

Our family has always had Springers in the house! Best doggos ❤️

My parents always had Springers. The one who lived with us during my childhood had a litter of purebred pups, one of whom was Taffy’s Sweet William - Willie to us. He was so precious - Springers are wonderful dogs.

Love that cute rabble-rouser! Stir up the Contrarian masses, Willie.

My earlier post escaped before I finished typing. It’s obvious Willie is the goodest boy! The consummate host! It’s obvious he is Willie Nelson, The Highwayman.

Willie is a gorgeous boy! Do these come in orange and white? My sister and I fell in love with and played with a similar boy, also named Willie, when we were about 10 years old. We walked through alleys and there he was - obviously well kept and from a good home, but outside and raring to go by following us to school and home again. I will never forget him. He never brought us toilet paper, but did bring us endless sticks and branches. Thank you for sharing him with us.

That may have been a Brittany—another high energy sporting dog

That could be he. What a wonderful array of personality characteristics - energetic, happy, intelligent and good with children. Dogs are such magical creatures.
