Absolutely! There is NO dog on earth who likes to be dressed up, but their human counterparts keep on truckin'. The pups are owed big time for their tolerance. My last one would have bit my hand off if I even tried to put a hat on her. She always expressed her limits, loudly, clearly and succinctly.
I will never forget the time, several years ago, when I was so proud that I purchased my Cairn Terrier a raincoat to match mine! I couldn't wait to head out with her, dressed to match me, as we weathered the rain for her walk to take care of her potty break. I managed to get it on her, then carried her outside and sat her down. Her legs became stiff as though they were made of cement! She froze, not moving an inch. It was hilarious, and I was quickly over the disappointment. She never had any clothing placed on her after that!
Exactly! We could do a few hats, a few Xmas ribbons with 2 of our shelties, but the last one? Oh, hell no. She always knew what she was: human for us, a dog for her. She would spend more time shaking off Xmas ribbons than the whole holiday took, and hats? Coats? Oh, don't even think of it. She would give me grief about a halter, for Heaven's sakes, but I won on that one. She'd give me the stink eye, but then walked relatively well, although like she was gravely wounded; was very glad to get it off, however. She truly was something else; miss her every day.
My chihuahua does the same thing. He has to go for walks naked, even in winter, in a Seattle neighborhood where the other pets put on a fashion show for their walks. Tito will wear a sweater/coat, or he will walk. Not both.
It's really something how wearing clothing makes their legs unmovable! It is just too foreign a concept to some dogs. She would wear a bandana that they put on her after her grooming, but I would take it off when we got home. She always seemed appreciative as she would shake vigorously after being freed from that pesky ornamentation.
Some days I just need to see pet pictures and I'll bet the same is true for you. Pets in costumes are even BETTER! Thank you for helping us stay informed and stay engaged.
Just finding this today 11.12. Everyone looks terrific. Thank you all for your Halloween smiles. Mom and I enjoyed visits with the spirits of all our former fur-family members. Love and the blessings of all souls. Finnegan Dog in CA and his human.
The furry friends look like they are skeptically wondering why humans are so ridiculous. ‘I’ll humor you right now, but you owe me big time for this.'
Definitely! Psycho especially has THAT LOOK in his eyes. Just like our kitty. “Get this off me NOW! Or else!”

Precious Pets! They are motivated by treats. My chocolate lab, Macy will be 11 on the 3rd so she got a couple extras for being a good girl!
Chocolate labs are the best. My sweet girl passed last year and I'm still not over it. Cherish every day with Macy.
They are all so great !
She Biscuit and JJ, my faves.
Adorable all just adorable!
