Well, years ago, our aging sheltie, who was really pretty smart but I guess thought the Xmas tree was outside, took a dump underneath it! She couldn't understand why I got upset. "Mom, it's a tree!" It actually was hilarious, thinking of it now, years past her passing. She and her subsequent shelties were our buddies.
Years ago, I had a cat who decided to climb the Christmas tree while I was in another room. The crash of a tree and ornaments hitting the floor, and indignant meowing were my first clues that something was amiss. Amazingly, some ornaments survived.

OMG! It is hilarious … but only in retrospect!
I wonder if Charlie "inspects" the tree more closely to see if it will stay upright if he climbs??
