Every week gets nuttier than the last. How low can they go …..

It's Come To This's avatar

"There's a low below the low you know,

You can't imagine how far they can go DOWN..."

Patric M.

I stopped asking "how low" some time ago.

Seems the infinite toilet of the orange guy (I try not to say the name Voldemort) does keep flowing. It is getting progressively worse.

Don't ask, they'll take it as a challenge.

So will the raid on Bolton's house alarm at least some of the Trump administration's right-wing non-MAGA backers? Will they realize that targeting a high-profile white guy means they might be vulnerable? Watch this and other spaces to find out . . .

D Schmitt's avatar

Susanna J. S.

No, unfortunately, the MAGA backers have mental immunity from any thing that questions the "MAGA/Borg" collective opinion.

We all need to reach the uninfected brains that the Contrarians prove are out there.

Your generalization doesn't reflect what I'm reading and hearing. Are you sure you're not repeating generalizations you've heard 2nd or 3rd hand?

D Schmitt's avatar

Well, I do actually consider many sources of information, the credibility of each is measured with awareness of accuracy and potential bias.

I do not have 1st hand information.

I read, think, decide and keep an open mind.

If you misinterpret perceived "generalizations" you may deem less than worthy you may misunderstand my comment.

Regardless - I wish you the best

Vive la resistance.

Rise up while there is still chance.

To clandestine planning post haste.

Before tyranny lays America to waste.

To tolerate a regime this subpar.

The midterms are fatally too far.

Before democracy's defeated last breath.

We must expedite Project 2025's death.

To boycotts, protests and strikes.

To traitors heads on pikes.

Freedom the only acceptable solution.

Sacrifice essential to ensure evolution.

Vive la revolution.

Dump really needs to be stopped before he has the military take over all the blue cities. We cannot just stand by. All the lawsuit are slowing him down, but he is not stopping the destruction of democracy. Can the blue governors form a coalition of some kind to stop him?

Kathy Sowers's avatar

I just saw this article today on Substack and it's about that very thing, the collaboration of blue governors - it gave me such hope!!! https://substack.com/home/post/p-171298952

Excellent piece. I read it earlier. I'M IN!

Norm, you are a god. One of those people who has more than 24 hours in his day, uses all of them well, and is a genius on top of it. Mazal tov on the Habba thing and everything else. I ALWAYS listen to you and Jen, but can’t ever listen to it live. Please know that there would be at least one more heart in the comments!

The civil war never really ended, it just lurked underground in waiting. Donald "no new wars" Trump has rekindled the South's flame of hatred, and allowed it to burn bright as sunlight. Disbelief at this point is akin to willful blindness. This is civil war 2.0. This is State against State. Brother against brother. Suppression, destruction and chaos fuelled by the rage of a mad man.

Andrew Johnson's decision for a mass pardon was one of the worst things that ever happened to this country - from within.

john king (MY HUMBLE OPINION)'s avatar

There should be no pardons for the treasonous lot terrorizing the country now. Under no circumstances should betraying your country be covered under the immunity gifted to Trump by the corrupt SCOTUS.

I really like your phrase “catch me if you can” attitude to define this administration. I think it’s a great title for a commercial just waiting to be created!

A great roundup from the"vacationing" Norm.

"He" whose name will not be used bullies and threatens perceived enemies, ties them up in frivolous costly investigations and lawsuits, disregards laws and even judicial orders, puts boots on the ground in cities led by Black Democrats. ) WHILE SAYING, MIND YOU, THAT UKRAINE DOESN'T NEED BOOTS ON THE GROUND FOR THEIR SECURITY. BUT AMERICAN CITIES DO??) Keep the lawsuits coming, Norm. Do unto him what he does to others.

KnockKnockGreenpeace's avatar

Great point, Donna. It's revolting that Americans should have to accept military invasions of our own cities by our own soldiers during peacetime. Or what passes for peacetime these days.

That conservative judge's words ring true: A handshake deal, or unwritten rule, is only good as long as the principal players are honest and respectful, two things The Grifter has never been accused of being. When I get the alert every month that my subscription fee for The Contrarian has been taken out of my account, I breathe a little sigh of relief, knowing Norm, Jen, and their collaborators are out there, fighting against the scum that have breached the gates and have taken over our once-proud country. We will win it back, but it won't be easy.

Undaunted prize, so far, belongs to the judicial branch of the United States. We are glad to support The Contrarian in helping these undaunted persons. As for Bolton: it's the continuation of the revenge tour by a very puny person.

I read that Boris Johnson commented on the Trump event in Alaska saying, “It was the most vomit-inducing spectacle in the tawdry history of international diplomacy “. Boris Johnson!!

In the nightmare we are in now, to listen clearly what is happening and the fighting back, gives me some peace of mind

As a former federal prosecutor, I am appalled by the sleaze that Trump has displayed in his ploys to constantly attempt to install his totally inexperienced and inept personal attorney as the de facto U.S. Attorney of New Jersey. I am happy to see that our judicial system is still functioning, though badly crippled by the Trump team on the Supreme Court. Habba would be better suited to return to her little law practice in Bedminster rather than serve as Trump's attack dog to turn, as she has stated, New Jersey red.

Thank you. Norm didn't mention in this post the utter chaos Habba's pretending to still be the US Attorney has caused. Federal criminal prosecutions in NJ have come to a screeching halt until there is clarity on who, exactly, is the US Attorney for the district. Everything she has touched since the 120 days expired is being fought by defense attorneys who say she had no authority to do or say what she did. Chaos is the hallmark of this regime.

trump doesn't rule New Jersey....Louie and Tony do

A side point: The (l)awful president is still trying to deport Kilmar Abrego Garcia, now that he's been released from prison. Boy has he gotten under the president's skin! We should all be this effective in perplexing, enraging this thin-skinned man who thinks he's untouchable.

KnockKnockGreenpeace's avatar

May Trump be deported... to Hell.

Thanks Norm for your on point analysis of the weeks news. Hope the vacation has been fun but also restful. You’ve deserved it.
