These sound amazing! Why are they called Cowboy cookies? Maybe because, with these ingredients, they give you energy til the cows come home? Thanks, Marissa!
On this day in Nicaragua, I am sitting at a table under a thatched roof, looking at the ocean, drinking a cold beer, waiting for the fish to fry, waiting for Deb to come back from swimming. I am in the shade. In the sun anyone with bare feet has to run. Two men walk along the beach pass my table. One greets me.
“Bienvenidos a Nicaragua."
Le dije, “Gracias.”
Me preguntó, “Como esta usted?”
Yo le contesté, “Muy bien, gracias. Y usted?”
El me dijo, “También bien porque usted esta aquí.”
(" Welcome to Nicaragua . "
I said, "Thank you. "
He asked , " How are you ? "
I replied , " Very well, thank you . And you?"
He said, " also good because you are here . “)
I drink some more beer. I eat the fish. I go for a swim. I play some cards. The whole time I know my heart has been touched. It takes a day or two to make myself a promise.
When I’m back home, I’m going to look for the stranger who sojourns in my land and treat him as my brother.
I haven’t made these cookies in ages! Thank you for reminding me of them. Making a list of ingredients RIGHT NOW! 🍪 yummmm
A keeper recipe! My mom had a very similar cookie recipe called World’s Best Cookies. Both are outstanding cookies.
