I am sure most of you saw the performance of Musk with the chainsaw. 20 yrs ago a book was published entitled 'Chainsaw - the Notorious Career of Al Dunlop in the Era of Profit-at-Any Cost" He destroyed a company. I just dug it out of my library to have a short refresher.
We dodged the tax cut for now. We have to draw a line in the sand. We have to make that clear in our own heads. When will you take to the streets? I have a solid line. I think it makes sense. When they disobey the courts, we move.
They have just gutted the Military Generals and leaders...we have just passed the Rubicon... may God Bless America
And Americans’ concerns about Trump acting like a dictator are unlikely to be calmed by tonight’s news that Trump has abruptly purged the leadership of the military in apparent unconcern over the message that such a sweeping purge sends to adversaries. He has fired the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Charles Q. Brown, who Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth suggested got the job only because he is Black, and Admiral Lisa Franchetti, the Chief of Naval Operations, who was the first woman to serve on the Joint Chiefs of Staff and whom Hegseth called a “DEI hire.”
The vice chief of the Air Force, General James Slife, has also been fired, and Hegseth indicated he intends to fire the judge advocates general, or JAGs—the military lawyers who administer the military code of justice—for the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Trump has indicated he intends to nominate Air Force Lieutenant General John Dan “Razin” Caine to be the next chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Oren Liebermann and Haley Britzky of CNN call this “an extraordinary move,” since Caine is retired and is not a four-star general, a legal requirement, and will need a presidential waiver to take the job. Trump has referred to Caine as right out of “central casting.”
Defense One, which covers U.S. defense and international security, called the firings a “bloodbath.”

Please interview members of the Armed Service Committes of both the House and Senate. Many Republicans reject selling out Ukraine.
Here's Rick Scott's reply to my letter re Trump/Putin.
Dear Mr. Solomon,
Thank you for contacting me regarding the war in Ukraine. I appreciate the opportunity to respond.
Russia is a cancerous, evil regime that threatens our national security by attempting to control as much of Europe and Eurasia as it can. It also supports the regimes in Iran, Communist China, Cuba, and Venezuela. All of them continually seek to harm the United States and force us into a position of dependence upon them for our livelihood. Vladimir Putin’s unjustifiable and unlawful invasion of Ukraine is just one more example of this fact. I believe that the United States must continue to stand strongly with Ukraine and provide the lethal military aid it needs to win this war. Putin’s murderous attacks are a threat to our national security and the security of our democratic allies.
While we must continue to support democracy in Ukraine, I will not allow Russia’s unjust invasion to deprioritize or slow progress on solving urgent domestic issues such as securing the border, fighting inflation and rebuilding our national defense. Congress can continue to act and solve these issues, which we owe to the American people.
As Florida’s U.S. Senator, and a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I will continue fighting for allies around the world, while also ensuring we take care of our families here at home. I am proud to represent every citizen in Florida and I appreciate the time you took to provide your position on this matter. Should you have any additional questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.
But actions speak louder than words, and Scott has voted for all drumpf's nominees, whose main qualifications (apart from abusing women if they're men) are their falling utterly in goose steps with drumpf's agenda of revenge and self-enrichment.
Well, the American Brain Drain will soon begin. My own twenty-something nephew - whose mother is a Swedish citizen, is heading for Sweden to get his Swedish passport to move there. He's a super-hi techie kind of kid. Where do you think all those other young probationary employees of the CDC, NIH, etc. are going to go? Significant loss for this country. Just plain dumb, dumber and dumbest.
I have to express my disappointment in how The Contrarian is developing. I had high hopes when I paid to be a Founder, but now think you are trying to be everything for everyone. We are living in dire times and I don't thing we need cake recipes and pet pictures. I think of the Women's Orchestra of Auschwitz. How bad can things be if visitors can listen to classical music as they enter gates of a death camp?
Things are very, very bad. We can, and should, report on the court cases we win (where Norm Eisen is doing a great job) and other victories, but none of them will stop the Turmp blitzkrieg just like the Resistance didn't stop the Nazis. It slowed them down , but the SS made many non-combatants pay with their lives for every Resistance win.
More and more Substackers are like Sabrina Haake and I in that we are sounding the alarm that Trump & Co.. have gone past just heading down the road towards tyranny, they have gone over the crest of the hill and are about to invade the village in the valley. That is where we all live.
I understand the human need to avoid sinking into a pit of anxiety and despair, but I think The Contrarian needs to tell the unvarnished truth about how bad things are.
I’ve never left a comment, being a total newcomer to Substack and very out of the tech way of life. I’m more than a bit overwhelmed by this whole political renaissance - search for congressional/judicial accountability that’s evolving. So, if I could request a discussion topic by Jen and Norm, please, I want to hear how to assess the factions and groups who are recruiting us ordinary citizens. They’re so sincere and knowledgeable- church, online news, friends, and politicians. I just recently subscribed (paid) to a Substack personality because I used to listen to his talks on Alternative Radio years ago. Today, I listened live on line to him and others at a convention held in Seattle. Wow! What am I unwittingly part of? I don’t want to be in a militia. How does an old lady like me stay involved, but clear of slippery slopes? I have to walk the line, as is, with family and neighbors. It tears my soul. I love them. I love my country. I expect I’d love Russia, too, if it wasn’t for this machination going on with the megalomaniacs in charge. It’s like there’s a remote-control Elon neurolink in way too many politicians’ skulls. Imagine an America with no connection to these power people. We go off their grid. Would that be how we don’t go down the long, dark slide?
Who has the capability to start mapping out the change in net worth that's under way by
"community" with the spending changes under way? We need to be able to demonstrate to all the American people how they - the top 1/10 of 1%, farmers, construction workers, retail employees, etc. are faring as a result of Mump (Musk/Trump) slash and burn actions. It might take some months to fully materialize, but we need to start the tracking now.
