Ever since Donald Trump has been president, the United States has regressed over a 100 year period in the areas of civil rights, women’s rights, education and science among many other things.
So glad I don't have daughters. And all my good work on that front and on the environmental front, in the toilet. I'll never be proud of this country again.
It’s hard to be optimistic about the future when our country has fallen so far off the rails but as a voting populace we need and should insist on installing good thinking people who have our future in our best interests and those of future generations to come.
I’m heartened by the younger candidates I have seen lately. Talarico winning the TX primary, and Daniel Biss being featured in the Contrarian yesterday. He’s the kind of guy we need thousands of. The old model of perks, money, and power may seem out of reach to them. Everyone can’t be Matt Gaetz!

Biden's environmental legislation needs to be re-engaged and more. The catastrophic events are only going to get worse if we don't change. It may already be too late.

We learned from Biden's first two years in office, if Democrats come into power and the filibuster isn't eliminated, nothing will change.
Women need to start calling themselves feminists again, then, and read the history of those who did the early work. I think that later gens took their situation for granted and easily lost ground. How many would be shocked to know that their grandmothers or great-grandmothers were once unable to get a credit card in their own name or buy a house as a single woman? And we haven't really had the vote for that long, either. Trump is swiftly erasing the progress of the last hundred years, so Americans had better step up.
