There have been so many resignations from both federal and state Dept of Justice offices. What has happened to most of these lawyers? Have they found other jobs? What has been the response from the enforcement side[police, sheriffs]? Are they being silent, or supporting federals riding roughshod over citizens? So if non military employees are declining to follow illegal orders, then it's appropriate for military as well if the orders are against the rights of citizens. What has been happening over the past year makes me glad we have states rights as well as federal rights. The founders fought a significant battle to have both options in play.
I just saw a statement from a police chief in Minnesota. He explained that even his off duty officers (primarily people of color) were encountering the same ICE brutality as citizens. He was certainly not happy.
ICE is essentially a domestic terrorist organization. Who can blame these attorneys for leaving the DOJ. Why would anyone want to defend what they’re doing. It’s time to stop the terror. If congress doesn’t do something pretty soon we won’t have a democracy.
