And then, of course, there is the champion offender when it comes to retaining and refusing to return classified documents. And he was not president at the time. Is he going to be prosecuted after his term ends?
Selective prosecution, if Bolton can be brought to trial then I guess the same should also apply to Hegeseth. Maltreatment of classified information or documents should be considered a serious offense and regardless of who the offender is they should all be held to the same standards and treated equally.
The irony is so thick you can cut it with a knife about the charges against Bolton when Trump himself had boxes full of classified documents he was not entitled to possess. Convict Bolton if he is guilty. And bring the already-convicted felon to account for his own multitude of illegal acts once the law can finally reach him again and he isn’t protected by the MAGA Supremes.
It's hard to work up sympathy for John "I never met a war I didn't like" Bolton, but Trump's selective and vindictive prosecution of him just might be enough to push me over the top and feel sorry for the guy.
so, bolton not smart enough not to email his wife and kid classified material....looks like we have a bigger problem...what's that show ? Are you smarter than a 2nd grader ??
It took over a year to bring charges against the felon ex-pres Trump for his possession of many boxes of classified docs and other government property, but mere months to do so against Bolton. Garland was far too cautious, or cowardly to act expeditiously; had he done so, perhaps djt would be appealing his conviction instead of running roughshod over our sacred country.
Well, it might not be as big a fraud as the Comey and James indictments, but don't be fooled. Bolton was always on the list. Trump isn't going after him because it might be legit, he's doing it despite that. Also any prosecutor may have brought it, but in the past 5 years none apparently thought it was worth it until now.
As despicable as Trump's actions are, I don't have a lot of sympathy for Bolton and Comey so I only really get worked up about James. My dream would be, if the Dems ever regain power, that they immediately go after all of these evil morons, even Trump, I don't care how old and feeble he is- "lock him up!" To hell with the high road.
Good to know somewhat about Bolton to distinguish his case against others. I believe we need more background to decide about the charges. Thank you for your article.
