I think I know the answer: The grab-'em story doesn't matter because they don't care that Trump is a sexual predator. Nor do they care that he's ordering innocent people to be kidnapped, that's he's taking health care from people, that he's dismantling our democracy and selling off the country to the highest bidder, and so on.
What matters most, and the main reason a certain subset of his base voted for him, was his campaign promise to expose the "Democratic-led pedophile ring." Apparently, for those who swallowed that conspiracy theory hook, line, and sinker, it was THE major campaign issue, and they were counting on him to expose it and finally, at last, bring down the evil Clintons and the other Democrats and "Hollywood elites" they believe are ruining the country. That, as I understand it, is the big difference between this story and all his other crimes.

Now, I am obsessed with finding a bridge to the SCANDAL to his base from the lies he's told for--ever--but certainly for the last decade.
Two things come to mind: his bullshit ravings about the deaths of the children in the recent Texas floods and his utter and outright lies about how good that horrific reconciliation bill were.
What I hope to find is a way to thread these stories together such that all but the staunchest of his followers understand what a liar he is. For example, think about the irony of pretending to care about the children who died in the flood after just having signed a bill that will in so many ways contribute to the sickness and death of so many children across the country (actually, the world). Many of his followers will undoubtedly realize that spending bill was not anywhere near what he touts it as being. It's going to affect not only the adults who voted for him, but their children too.
I've written this before but he's claimed he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue in NYC and get away with it. I'd say he's probably right. But could he rape a child and get away with it? IF evidence, (including victim testimony) says he's guilty of that, I believe that question should be posed to his followers. Are they really OK with him raping someone the age of their daughter or niece? How about the lower courts and "his" judges? He gets a pass for child rape? Supreme Court--Roberts, Alito, Thomas--you guys going to find another twist in the pretzel or invent some new factoid of law that gives him immunity from child rape?
I believe somehow, there's an opportunity to weave these concepts together in a meaningful way to make it sink in to many in his base that he's conned them. I haven't got it figured out yet, but the Venn diagram is one of the strongest mathematical symbols I know and I see this tragic situation as a rare opportunity to jolt much of his base into reality.
In closing, my sincere condolences and respect to you, E. Jean for your decades-long ordeal with the monster and his well-cashed protectors. What I know of your story is every bit as deserving of sympathy, compassion and righteousness as any and all of the girls and young women with the Epstein net. Thank YOU for the guts and determination to follow your nightmare scenario to the extent and places that you did. I'm pretty confident the financial gain was not worth the price of admission, but I hope you get every penny from that SOB.
Prosecutors refer to tRump's behavior regarding the impending release of the Epstein records as "Consciousness of Guilt," an unconscious confession in the face of verbal denial of the crime. I have to believe amid his haze of confusion that he is finally experiencing some panic.
