I watched Coffee with the Contrarians this morning, as I do regularly, and although I thought your guest, Randi Weingarten, had good intentions and information, she took over the entire show and pulled Jen and Norm away from the biggest story of the day-the murder in Minneapolis. She has been on before and although good, she doesn’t seem to understand the concept of your show. Perhaps you could interview her separately at a different time and give her all the time she needs. I found myself tuning out because I wanted to hear more of your thoughts about yesterday’s horrific ICE attack. Your “coffee” works best with Jen and Norm and occasionally guests who have expertise in the events of the day who understand that we want to hear from all of you.
The one interviewee says "ICE can't unilaterally use lethal force". That's all well and good, but frankly, ICE does whatever it wants to do, including use of lethal force, as these numbskulls are armed, locked and loaded. It honestly does not matter what they "can't do" because they do it. Just like their bosses. Trump can't take Venezuela, but he did. He can't deport people without due process, but he does. He can't instruct Kegseth to bring charges against Kelly for use of free speech, but he did. And on and on. Saying what people can't do in this administration is simply irrelevant. Americans and the world have to realize that "can't" legally is no longer the rule. "Can" and "will" is, legal or not.
Are we prepared for MAGA lawsuits against EVERY Democratic win in 2026 ? This could delay decisions and seating of the next congress on time. Could you do a review of planning for this likely occurrence?
My guess is that few if any of these ICE agents have been vetted. Like background checks on regular citizens looking for work those who are put on the job are likely some of the worst people. Even if Renee Good was guilty of some offense for which we have no evidence still doesn’t give ICE the right to murder someone at random.
