Cherry blossoms, a farmer speaks out, Calls to Action, Love Story, Days of Love and Rage, what's up with the World Cup?, April Ryan w/ Sen. Warnock & Jonathan Capehart, & more!
Could you discuss why the traitors in Congress and the White House aren't being dealt with as ordered by the constitution? None of my representatives nor Heather Cox Richardson have given my an answer.
I really enjoyed Meredith Blake’s piece on Love Story. It was such a sad day when JFK Jr., his wife Carolyn Bessette Kennedy and her sister Lauren Bessette were killed in that plane crash near Martha’s Vineyard in 1999. Three young and promising lives lost in a foggy evening. A great tragedy for the Kennedy and Bessette families.
I can understand why Gen Z might have a liking for Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. She lead a glamorous life modeling for Calvin Klein and then later became his publicist. Bessette Kennedy was a private somewhat reserved albeit elegant woman much like her mother in law Jackie Kennedy. They both valued their privacy.
Erica Chenoweth…Harvard prof, studied hundreds of nonviolent campaigns worldwide, and found nonviolence wins twice as often as violence. The big hook? The "three-point-five percent rule" i.e., 3.5% of a population actively joins a sustained, peaceful movement or protest, strikes, boycotts…then no government in history has held out. They either fold or change.
As for presidents or political groups? Chenoweth's data says “yeah” (see citation above) if enough people stay disciplined and nonviolent, even the toughest systems crack. No guarantees, but history backs it.
Reject lawless authoritarianism, billionaire-first politics, and the militarization of our democracy.
We have to do better than 3.5% of us gathering together 3 or 4 times a year. Even once a month or once a week is insufficient. We need to be out there every day! My guess is we won't do that.

What happened to Let’s Do Lunch? One of my favorite shows!
It’s on Tuesdays at noon. Jared hosted Mark Zandi this week. You can find it under our videos.
Thanks but where under videos--I normally teach when it is live so I watch once it's posted. Is it under Live like March 10th? I can't find March 25.
Yes it is under our Live! section.
Sorry for this but I do not see it. I will keep looking. Maybe 3/25 hasn't been posted yet? Maybe you can send me the link?
