Happy Thanksgiving to all the Contrarians 🍁🦃🍂🍁🍂
IF we make it through this in tact as a democracy, it will be because of you all and people like you--all over the country. And a special Hats off thank-you to Norm Eisen and Mark Elias. There is a sense of being protected that flows from people like that and your consistency of spirit, and Jen of course with the magic pen.
A LITTLE STORY: In one of Ken Burns' episodes on the American Revolution, they read a part of a letter from a French General who came to help the patriots. In the letter he was comparing the French troops he had under his command with American patriots.
It seems that he could just tell his French troops to do something in battle, and they would do it. While with the American troops, they had to know WHY they were supposed to do it, and only then they would do it.
I think those American patriots all were "woke" in the best sense that word can convey. And I think a good part of America has been politically asleep and is finally waking up, thanks to you all and the woke work that you do.
