I presume that Pritzker is still in charge of Illinois' Natl Guard, even though Trump has made idiotic remarks re how he will nationalize them. Instead of useless words, photos of egregious conduct on the part of ICE, beat asshole to the punch, and bring in the Guard to police these gangsters. I understand there would be full scale conflict, but frankly, it's coming to that anyways. Bring it on.
Today, I had the most frightening conversation with someone I had seen, but never spoken to, before. Unfortunately, I could not get away from her because she was doing a cvolor job on my hair, because my regular hair stylist was out.
A person we both know is getting cancer treatment for the third time in several years (not breast cancer, each cancer was different). The person I spoke with today told me she didn't understand why the doctors were not giving her Ivermectin, which she called a miracle drug. She said she knows several people who had stage 4 cancer and whose doctors said they could not do anything further for them, went to other doctors who gave them Ivermectin and after a few months their cancer was gone. These were women with breast cancer and men with different kinds of cancer. I asked her why so many women were still dying of breast cancer. She said it's because the drug companies are not making any money on this drug, so they didn't like doctors to prescribe it.
At first I wasn't really listening to her, so I didn't realize what drug she was talking about. When she brought up that it was used a lot during the Covid period. my ears pricked up and I asked her to tell me the name of the drug. she said Ivermectin. I told her it was pretty much proven that Ivermectin did nothing for (or against) Covid, but she insisted. I finally told her we would never see eye-to-eye on this subject, so please drop it.
Then she started in on how well this country was running under the OCF (she didn't call him that, of course. I again told her that I did not agree with her and I did not like this country being run by a convicted felon. She said, "oh, those charges were all false and played up by the other side. I asked her if she watched Fox "news?" She said no. I asked her where she got her news from. Her reply: "The only independent news you can rely on anymore is Facebook. You get many different views." This couple posting news she liked best used to both work at Fox. I almost lost my lunch at that and I finally told her I did not want to speak anything to do with politics, religion, or health and I went back to reading my book, thereby ignoring her, even so she babbled on.
Sorry this post is so long, but that was the first time since 2015 I had actually had to have a conversation with someone from the other side. Such ignorance shocks the shit out of me and I find it frightening that someone so ignorant is actually to vote for someone so totally unqualified to be president of this country.
Where is the first amendment action for the warrantless Chicago apparement building raid that wasn't covered by the Washington Post or the New York Times?
