The Supreme Court's brazen approval of racial profiling
The Supreme Court abandoned basic constitutional principles in allowing Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to engage in blatant racial profiling. As Justice Sonia Sotomayor said in a powerful dissent: “We should not have to live in a country where the Government can seize anyone who looks Latino, speaks Spanish and appears to work in a low wage job.”
So racial profiling is legal now? Leah Litman on SCOTUS' unhinged immigration ruling
Yesterday, the Supreme Court released an unsigned order lifting a federal judge’s ruling that banned immigration stops based on “apparent race or ethnicity,” speaking in Spanish, or other racial profiling techniques.

Food is not the hunger-ending hero we think it is
Food has a role to play in ending hunger. But it’s not the hero people think it is. The main cause of modern hunger is not lack of food. Rather, hunger is caused by greed and hate.

RFK Jr.'s 'disastrous hearing' and protecting voting rights
President Trump is attempting to disenfranchise the Latino community with a highly gerrymandered map that would directly target Rep. Greg Casar’s (D-TX) seat and other minority-majority districts in the state.

I do not like the news presented in this piece. In fact, I truly hate it. But more than that, this ongoing issuance of "decisions" by the Supreme Court without any explanation is pure bullshit. I don't want to candy coat this. It's a total disgrace and calls into question the honesty, dignity, morality and complete lack of candor of the "majority" in the Court. Justice Sotomayor has nailed it and it's just too bad that as citizens we cannot do anything about this literal travesty of justice. In fact, there is no justice at all to this "decision" which, in total, is allowing a dictatorship to sink it's claws into the republic and its citizens. Shame on all of those five lame justices who have allowed their names to be placed in a literal legal hall of shame.
The philosopher George Santayana said it best: "Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it." And the history we are currently repeating bears an increasingly chilling resemblance to 1930s Germany.
