FACTS? You want facts? Then Trump is your man to generate whatever facts he thinks you'll buy.
Trump's former White House staff, when asked about his "departures" from the truth, said that he lives in a world of "alternate facts" and "alternate truths". In order for Trump to maintain his mental equilibrium, his mind must fabricate facts, which Trump passes off as truths, to stabilize his sanity. In other words, his mind works like a gyroscope. When it tilts off balance, his mind interjects facts that will restore the balance, which Trump passes off as truths. We're dealing here with a very mentally disturbed individual. It's one thing when we see this in a diseased mind of someone confined to a mental ward, but it's terrorizing to see this in the President of the United States.
Delusions are not new to him. For example, he has said:
“I alone can fix it.”
“I am the chosen one.”
“A very stable genius.”
“My I.Q. is one of the highest.”
“I know more about ISIS than the generals do.”
“Nobody knows more about taxes than I do, maybe in the history of the world.”
“I know more about renewables than any human being on Earth.”
“I know more about drones than anybody.”
“Nobody knows more about construction than I do.”
“I know words. I have the best words.”

At a 2019 rally, he approvingly described Lou Dobbs’s escalating praise: first that Trump was the greatest president since Reagan, then better than Reagan, and then “the greatest president in the history of our country, including George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.”

The takeaway: Don't expect the facts from Trump, i.e., unless you're willing to settle for his "alternate facts."
And let's not forget that "the war against Iran will be over in (two weeks) (a month) (other short period of time)" and that, according to the man, Iran's nuclear capacity was completely destroyed LAST year.
Of course when confronted with undeniable evidence, such as his long term relationship with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, or his rape of E. Jean Carroll, Trump tries to pretend that never happened!
There is absolutely nothing coming out of the White House or any of the Trump sycophant-led cabinet positions that is believable. Without exception, they are crooks, grifters, liars, and fabulists.
Right you are, Stephen. The reply I made to Jen's post today focused on the lies being told by the head lunatic but could have included the cabal of sycophants who are card-carrying members of his liar's club.
Remember that during a interview with Chuck Todd in T1.0, the hag and former Mrs. George Conway, Kellyanne Conway, rolled out the infamous phrase "alternate facts" that Chuck immediately challenged.
That same mindset infects his aiders and abettors this time around.
One thing is belivable: Trump and his administration is swamping the courts and our legal system with bullshit and specious charges. We are fortunate that the lower federal and state courts aren't buying it. Shame on the toadies at the supreme court for their support.
Do you all remember Geraldo Rivera's much hyped "Mystery of Capone's Vault" where Geraldo went into the Chicago Lexington hotel basement and found.....nothing? We're witnessing this phenomenon on steroids in this vile administration.
I envision one day Geraldo will reprise a new show called "Mystery of Trump's Cranium" and when when his skull is cracked open the doctors find..... I think we all know the answer.
tRump's tutor and spirit guide, Roy Cohn, taught him to wage 'lawfare' whenever he was in any kind of legal or PR difficulty. It is one of the few lessons he ever actually learned... perhaps because he was in hot water for this or that trouble throughout his life. Practice makes perfect and still he got in hot water again and had to have a lawyer/fixer on speed dial. Now, I suppose he just tells Natalie to summon Todd.
Facts have never been the felon’s strong point. Facts are not a strong point of Janine Pirro either. Facts were not a strong point of Pam Bondi and on and on. As they say, you’re entitled to your own opinion but you are not entitled to your own facts. The data is the data. I commend Neera Tanden for not being bullied by the biggest liar in America.
Thanks Jen. I really appreciate you calling out the endless, ridiculous, dangerous lies from the Trump regime. In my opinion, legacy media has failed because of the two false gods they serve slavishly-- money and power. I don't see them turning from their corruption until they thing it's profitable to do so. And yeah, that's deeply messed up. The consequences are everywhere.
“Trump and his minions’ utter failure to back up wild accusations extends well beyond courtrooms.”
Very true. In fact, you could just leave it at: “Trump…..(is an) utter failure as a human being”.
The zillion dollar mystery is: How on Earth can the American people be so ignorant/naive/stupid to elect this…….moronic carnival barker…..to manage and lead their country?
I hope and pray that Americans find the intelligence to finally right the ship and….overwhelmingly….Vote Blue in the upcoming election!🙏🙏🙏🙏🤞🤞🤞🤞
You nailed it, Don Kennedy. The false assumptions of Patriarchy and Hierarchy have been challenged by intelligent people of color and women for the past couple of decades. “Traditional” conservatives rebelled, and are still rebelling. The billionaire class that wants us all as their servant class, were able to exploit our prejudices to convince many of us to vote against our economic interests. Trump is the result.
The vast majority of Americans understand that Trump is a known liar, thief, and sexual predator. Anyone who works for Trump for more than a week becomes what Trump has been for his entire life.
It is the way the world works. You cannot work for a dishonest person without becoming a dishonest person.
"“278,000 noncitizens registered to vote in four states, including an exact number of 15,903 in Nevada...."
These numbers remind of the original "Manchurian Candidate" and Johnny Iselin's rants about Communists in the government, the numbers changing each time he opens his mouth, until, pathetically, he asks his wife (brilliantly played by Angela Lansbury) if they can just, please, settle on one number.
Who is still looking/reading what so called legacy media says? I sure don't. It is the last place I look for news, let alone truth.
Has anyone checked the numbers of who is still looking/reading the so called legacy media?Might be an interesting subject for five minutes.
I haven't trusted the so called legacy media since the 1970's when I lived near the Canadian boarder and listened to CBC radio out of Canada all day long and then my ex-husband would spend a couple of hours in the evening looking at the so called legacy news stations. I became shockingly aware that Americans were getting only about 1/2 of the news that was going on in the world.
My reliance is now on journalsts like Robert Reich, Heather Cox Richardson, Dan Rather, Jennifer Rubin, Norm Eisen and others on Substack and The Guardian, the BBC and some more minor attention to PBS.
Used to deliver and read the Washington Post as a kid. Now wouldn't touch it.
Trump is and always will be a snake oil salesman. Facts and truth are never an advantage when selling "snake oil". The only thing that matters is "charisma" and "exaggerated promises" (lies). He's pulled together a top level team who covers for him in bizarre, performative ways. A "virtuous circle" of lies. Hopefully, the people have had enough and it's all collapsing as his self-aggrandizing policy decisions hurt the base of people who trust him the most.
As is often said of the sociopathic lunatic running the insane asylum that is his executive branch of government: "If the mouth is moving, he's lying." The newspaper that Jen used to write for, The Washington Post, kept tabs on his lies and published them in its Fact Checker column during T1.0. Of course, with the paper's current owner having his head up the putrid a-hole (yuck...sorry) of the POTUS, that will not be happening this time around.
However, surely there are worthy successors out there in the mediasphere who could provide that service to the public with the clear understanding that it would be a full-time job for those who would choose to do it.
Jeff Bezos bought the WaPo in 2013, so he was the owner when the paper did their daily count of the lies spewing from the orange menace's mouth and lived their motto of 'Democracy dies in Darkness'. The main difference between then and now was that the top newsroom leader at The Washington Post during the first term was Executive Editor Martin (Marty) Baron, who retired from the Post in February, 2021.
"However, surely there are worthy successors out there in the mediasphere who could provide that service to the public with the clear understanding that it would be a full-time job for those who would choose to do it."
The rise of the journalists on Substack have risen to the challenge. We need more light to shine upon its contributors so that more people will read their work.

Your list would be much shorter if you posted all the times Trump told the truth.
Your point is well taken, but where would I find that comment?
That's just it, you wouldn't. No one would.

Kindly start your own Substack and just refer us to it in a few sentences.
A little unkind.
I think it's good to see trump's longgg BS list !
also, some here write MANY paragraphs

Thank you. Looking at you, NY Times Editorial staff.
The country is worse, our culture is threatened, the economy stinks, the White House is ruined. These are fact’s because of Trump.
And if we are to believe the latest threat, the imminent razing of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts if Trump's renovations aren't allowed.
He already had the East Wing pulled down without permission, so the future of the Kennedy Center might well be in question.
" Following Trump’s widely panned Oval Office speech regarding alleged noncitizen voting, the big document “reveal” turned out to be a bust."
The big document I'd like to see revealed is the Epstein files.
Stay tuned. Katie Phang and Ellie Leonard are doing good work on that and giving Blanche & Co. a run for their money.
