Thank you, thank you, thank you Jen for informing us about these malicious shenanigans by the government. My blood relation posted earlier today on facebook about how the government shutdown is the fault of the democrats. It was such bullshit that I had to respond. My response to her post was this is typical GOP demagoguery and Gaslighting Our People at its finest. With a haha emoji. People will believe anything š
Thank you, Jen, for this to-the-point interview! It's good to get straightforward info about the illegality of this administration's shenanigans and what can be done legally to fight back. Sometimes I feel like our hands are just slack at our sides until I hear info like this interview.
Another law has been broken, but it will not be prosecuted. The Trump train is full throttle. The strategy involves pointing it out, discussing its harm, its illegality, the resulting suffering, all of which are essential to understand. But understanding seems ot be the "booby-prize ." The Contrarian is a call to action that we all need. There ain't enough Contrarians around yet to hijack this train, but we are on horses now, and catching up to the train.
Jen, bravo and thank you for having each of your wise and knowledgable guests with you! Their information and work is so important, and these closer looks at what is happening are helpful.
Not every federal job is so critical that the whole system crumbles if people are laid off. This has been a long time coming. As soon as the shutdown started, the firings could have begun, but they didn't. I don't blame Trump for making it painful for Democrats right now if it helps end the shutdown stalemate.
Regardless, both Dems and Repubs alike need to come to terms with the fact that the size and scope of our federal government needs to be reduced. It starts with Congress growing a collective spine. They can begin by thinning out the ranks of Congressional staff members.
