Melania Trump took part - with enthusiasm - in her husband’s “birther” smear of Barack Obama. That was, and is, unforgivable. She has her own grift going, selling NFTs, junk jewelry at inflated prices, and now leveraging a documentary for $$$mega-millions through Jeff Bezos. How is it in any way admirable that she plays the game of the wealthy wife, flitting from home to home like a reality-TV personality? I don’t subscribe to The Contrarian to read puff pieces about her. C’mon.
Max disgust with Melania. No wiggle room on how rotten she is.
She didn’t move to DC in 2017 until she’d renegotiated her financial deal with Trump. We all paid for that. The Secret Service was spread too thing and had to increase their budget to cover all the unpaid overtime and extra expense Trump cost them beginning in the first year and continuing straight through to today.
Think about it: A woman who cares about her children, doesn’t have children with a Trump (or Musk, or Stephen Miller or…).
Melania isn't about carving a unique path. She's about fulfilling her contractual duties to keep her money grubbing lifestyle afloat. She's worthless to us. But she had some nice nudes 20 years ago.
There is nothing admirable about Melania Trump. She is a gold digger who is not worth the time of any one. She only wanted to be a citizen so she could stay in this country. She cares nothing for what we as a country used to stand for. I will not waste any more time on her.
I do not respect the path Melanie has chosen. She might not want the job but she signed on. There appears to be no redeeming values in her.
Can you imagine the press if either the Clintons or Obamas lived separately as the trumps do? The double standard in covering this couple is appalling.
It is extremely disappointing to see Melania discussed together with outstanding First Ladies like Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, Jacqueline Kennedy, and Roselynn Carter, as though she is a "normal" presidential spouse and worthy of the honor of their company.
Betty Ford or Eleanor Roosevelt would not have traveled to visit detention facilities at the southern border wearing a jacket with the words, "I really don't care, do you?" Pat Nixon or Mamie Eisenhower would not have donned a pith helmet on a "goodwill" tour of Africa.
Every editor-in-chief is allowed an off-day every once in a while. . . .
You left out one very important First Lady, the one who declared, "Women's rights are human rights." Hillary Rodham Clinton. The woman who told us every stinking, rotten, thing that the adjudicated rapist and convicted felon would do.
Sorry, but I find this piece very shalllow. There’s no doubt that the “job” of First Lady is demanding. The expectation of perfection, the constant scrutiny etc are no one’s idea of a good time. Frankly that’s largely the case for almost every celebrity, especially women. Moreover, spouses make sacrifices for each other’s careers all the time. Think military spouses, for example. But what bothers me most about this article is that completely glosses over the privilege, the power, the prestige and the wealth (yes, wealth) that comes with the job of First Lady, both during and after the White House years. These “unelected spouses” owe an enormous debt to both the job and to the American public. Melania Trump’s refusal to acknowledge Dr Jill Biden’s existence as incoming and outgoing First Lady is not merely a personal insult, it demonstrates contempt for the job of First Lady. Meeting with your successor or predecessor is part of the job. And as much as I otherwise admire Michelle Obama and appreciate her understandable disdain for the Trumps, I think she made a big mistake in refusing to take the high road at President Carter’s funeral and the 2025 inauguration. “Becoming” didn’t make her millions because she was a successful working mom with two daughters. It made her millions because she was a First Lady who treated her job with dignity and respect.

I have nothing but contempt for the wife of our short fingered vulgarian. They are two of a kind.
Melania is a despicable human being. Period. The less said about her, the better. Period. (Do I make myself clear? Could I be any more contemptuous?)
I don’t care, do U?

Golddigga.

You must be joking. Melania Trump has no credibility or integrity. The previous post is correct, she’s just another cheesy grifter.

Garbage piece, utterly garbage. Reads like it was penned by a freshman in high school.
What could we expect a man to say.
Kate is a man's name?
what are you talking about?
She's in it for the money.
It takes a con to know a con. They deserve each other.
No.
