It's time to bring back the Equal Rights Amendment. It already has the requisite number of state affirmations - just not on the original timeline. Just amend the timeline to get it over the threshold.
We need to strengthen the anti-monopoly laws and require a supermajority to weaken them.
The scope needs to include all the new forms of collaboration that have evolved since the 1930s. The impact of globalization of corporations needs to be covered as well to prevent the collusion from occurring outside the US and then impacting domestic affairs, e.g., the Phoebus Cartel of the 1920s and beyond (that's why incandescent light bulbs burned out after just a few hundred hours instead of thousands of hours).
ICE could be more accurately described by a German acronym I created, EISS, which is also pronounced as "ice". It stands for Entführung Intern Schutzstaffel and translates to "abducting internal protection squad". Note: I could not resist including "SS" in my acronym. ICE (or EISS) is truly an organization that abducts people and the news on them gets more outrageous by the day, and now with the use of them using the GLOVE stun gloves to force people into compliance.

We need to address the unconscionable human rights violations in Gaza - ethnic cleansing and genocide are clear and rampant. We should not be supporting those themes. Claiming property rights on a made-up promise from God from 5000 years ago is bogus. I suspect that the "god" who made the promise was one of the Egyptian Pharos giving away what he didn't control so it could be someone else's problem.
We have the pronunciation right: 'sycophants,' used to describe the cult tribe of enablers, from the so-called 'cabinet' to the so-called GOP-majority 'house' (of the Congress). But we have had the spelling wrong, while retaining the correct pronunciation: surely it should be 'sickophants.'
Because that is what they are.
To paraphrase slightly the Hilaire Belloc quote from the previous century: "There is no [apparent] cure for this disease."
Or, put another way, in the original Latin: "Sic [sick] transit gloria mundi.'
Perhaps we should also paraphrase the Jesuit requirement of students when writing essays and similar works: "AMDG " (top of first page) and "LDS" (bottom of final page). They stand, in Latin, for "To the Greater Glory of God" and "Praise to God, Always." Today they mean "To the Greater Glory of Donald" and "Praise to Donald, Always."
The way the Republicans in the House and Senate act and the way Trump's cabinet, there's a reason I compare them to the people who went into the phony phone booth of Simon Bar Sinistar and came out of it promising to do what Simon says, even if against their interests.
"This merger violates long-standing federal antitrust law, and we are committed to enforcing the law."
And there it is, the bottom line for why such a mega-merger of media interests should not be permitted, especially as those controlling it have significant political motivation to also control the content. for a large portion of the country.
