Excellent article. My only ask is we do away with phrases like “vast partisan polarization.” Isn’t the problem that some significant part of the country clings to their fascist cult leader? It’s hardly the pro-democracy people’s fault that we can’t have a decent conversation with them.
Sadly, nothing will ever change in these United States, as long as there is so much money to be had by politicians from various and sundry gun nut organizations. Even sadder, that includes Democratic politicians.

Since the abortion bans went into effect in red states the gun violence towards women has only gotten worse.
