Thank you very much for calling out the racism that, sadly, has always underpinned America. It's cruel, inhumane, deadly, destructive and the absolute wrong way to go. It is crushing our entire country.

It is waaay past time for more of us who are called 'white' to stand up for our neighbors, brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers and say ENOUGH. NO!!!!

Being both white and Latina, I am profoundly disturbed and profoundly conflicted by my privilege and others' oppression. Leading by example is my way of restoring civility in this country. Everyone gets respect until proven otherwise... Trump.

“Why is it we only take people from shithole countries? Right? Why can’t we have some people from Norway, Sweden, just a few? Let’s have a few. From Denmark, do you mind sending us a few people? Send us some nice people, do you mind?

“But we always take people from Somalia, places that are a disaster, right? Filthy, dirty, disgusting, ridden with crime” ~Trump, yesterday.

Perhaps someone should tell Trump that people from Norway, Sweden and Denmark don't want to emigrate to the U.S., not least because of health care, gun violence -- and racist scum like Trump.

But they continue to consolidate their power.

Looking at our history, there has been racism from the beginning, presented in various ways over the years. The current iteration is a militarized version straight from and supported by our own government. In many ways we have evolved - just not this one.

Thank you for gathering together all the repression and abuse that people of color have endured in this country through systemic racism. And yet, we still believe in America after fighting for our rights to simply exist from the very beginning through today. Somehow the descendants of European immigrants believe that only their rights matter when they are immigrants like everyone else except for the Indigenous whose land they stole. We believe in equality in freedom. We don't want to eradicate our White neighbors. We believe in peace, justice and equality for all.

I posted this comment on transcript of yesterday's Coffee segment. I think it bears repeating here: "We need to keep the focus on the military style apprehension of people, especially when they are sent away and there's no information about where they are. They're taking away their civil rights. They're taking away due process. This issue is of paramount importance because when our cities are taken over by a no holds barred paramilitary, then you can be sure you're witnessing a pattern used by despots and megalomaniacs."

This article seems to be reflecting on what America used to be, not what it is now, An Autocratic Fascist state.

It does no one any good to live in the past. We need to accept that our country's government has been taken over and we must insist our Department of Justice indict and punish this obvious criminality.
