"Kennedy has directly contradicted a promise he made to the Senate health committee chair, Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), that he would not do this."

Seems like a good opportunity to organize a phone bank to ask Louisiana constituents to contact their Senator, who betrayed all of them by voting for Kennedy, despite the fact that Cassidy publicly acknowledge his lack of qualifications for the position. He should be held accountable,.

Fully agree and let's remember to call him RFK the Lesser. Again and again he proves he is not the man his father was.

and cassiddy is a doctor...not hard to see why he had to quit doctoring and run for senate...

Cassidy and others should not have confirmed him. Period.

Once the enablers confirmed Hegseth, it was clear to me that they would kowtow and rubber stamp the rest of the grossly unqualified "Cabinet" the Narcissist-in-Chief nominated. This move by Kennedy was practically inevitable.

As I participated today in a small protest, several school buses passed by. Seeing those grade school kids waving from the windows committed me even more to fighting for them. I feel so bad for the world they're going to inherit because of this regime.

How many Americans will now face the genuine risk of preventable illness, complications and possible hospitalization because of Kennedy 's reckless, irresponsible decisions?

He is a sick, sick, delusional person. And of course perfect for a trump administration where truth goes to die.

Old guy here: I don’t think I’m paranoid but it seems as if RFK Jr has set up a plan to allow the elderly, disabled and infirm to just die off in order to save money to help the wealthy have their tax breaks!

Soft eugenics. He is probably too stupid to know he's the tool of the plan but he is implementing it skillfully.

Well he certainly isn’t the first to go back on statements, promises, or made during Senate confirmation hearings. Remember “settled law” Kavanaugh?

RFK Jr. should never have been confirmed for this job and certainly cannot be trusted at all.

This was bad, but the new ACIP members take this to a level of depravity that is stunning: anti- vaxx grifters. He destroyed an expert committee that led our nation and replaced them with people who are unqualified at best. Horrific.

Every thing this administration is doing is harming the most important thing we have, our health! They couldn’t care less if we all drop dead!

Impeachment of Kennedy is the play to make ... the sooner the better.

We are rapidly descending into Fascism; a place where science is ridiculed and the trusted institutions that have kept us safe for decades are destroyed. In their place we get drunk boy scout Hegseth and 'I have a worm in my addled brain' Kennedy. Don't be misled by the stories of the day. There is only one story: the rapid slide into fascism. An authoritarian and his oligarchs want to resurrect the glory days of Hitler. We can wait and see what will happen. They did that in Germany and then Hitler built the ovens. Or we can resist. Support a free press and demonstrate peacefully. Speak truth to power. Trump has already said a dozen times that LA was 'on fire' and would have burnt to the ground if not for the 4000 national guard and 700 marines he deployed illegally to LA to quell the "massive riots." Meanwhile, concurrent video footage shows a relatively small peaceful demonstration with his cadre of military standing there with their thumbs up their asses. A sad and depressing sight to see how the military has been demeaned and at the same time, a frightening sight of a military being used to quell a peaceful demonstration just like they do in China and Russia.

Well he certainly isn’t the first Trump pick to go back on statements/promises/inferences made during Senate confirmation hearings. Remember “ settled law” Kavanaugh?

There is no way that Robert Kennedy Jr. was going to abandon his crackpot ideas about vaccines. He should never have been confirmed to head HHS in the first place. Sad day for America.

Not that you need my confirmation, but every word you have said in this post is absolute fact. Moreover, I would be happy to swear to that before the Senate Investigative Committee at RFK, Jr.'s impeachment hearing. For many years before I retired from CDC, I was in charge of the publication process for the ACIP recommendations in CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR)/Recommendations and Reports (R&Rs). In my position, I regularly attended the ACIP meetings, then worked with their members and other CDC experts to ensure that their recommendations were accurately reflected the MMWR R&Rs. As each R&R was prepared for publication, it was reviewed thoroughly through several chains of command, and content changes were re-reviewed through those chains. All of this occurred on an unbelievably fast track so that the recommendations could be distributed to physicians, other public health practitioners, and the public throughout the United States and around the world.* At that time, the MMWR, whether the weekly issues or the R&Rs, were often referred to as the "Bible of Public Health." I can assure everyone that every ACIP member was a recognized expert in vaccine-preventable diseases and had worked for decades to ensure the world's health. Every person who has ever been an ACIP member deserves a medal of honor, not the slanderous — factually incorrect, as you state — propaganda from RFK, Jr. (*NOTE: The MMWR has always been free to everyone as part of CDC’s mission of public health [see https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/].)
