"When you threaten HBCUs, you're threatening African Americans everywhere, all across this country, because we all have this kindred spirit with these institutions."
I have a Masters degree from an HBCU school and both of our HBCU’s were on lockdown yesterday. Alabama A&M University and Alabama State University both on lockdown. Many of our local scientists and engineers get their Ph.D’s in Physics our teachers and educators get their ED.S and Ph.D’s in educational administration. I have a Master of Science degree in molecular biology with many classes in education. You’re absolutely right about these schools in the top tier being more affordable.
No surprise why threats to HBCUs are overlooked and FEMA funding a problem. ‘Twas ever thus. We need to let our congressional representatives know that we expect greater attention to this issue. And if we can manage it, open our pocketbooks and donate to the UNCF.

I do not understand the recent threats to HBCUs. Resources for security may be a necessary sign of the times. Thank you for your discussion.
