He was a handsome white guy with a goofy haircut who sold millions of records by peddling a sanitized version of Black music to an audience of suburban girls. (And told his detractors to “kiss my white butt!”)
Kinda reminds me of Pat Boone in the 1950s. He mad a boatload of money doing lame, second rate, sanitized versions of music originally recorded by black artists, who made bupkes while Boone became very wealthy.
Oh absolutely, but I was thinking more in terms of him being a racist and back in the 1950s, black people still knew "their" place. He and his cult are working very hard to get the country back to those days. I sure hope they will not succeed.
When Trump uses the term 'freedom' it becomes an oxymoron. He certainly has a way with performing artists. When he invaded the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, artists cancelled. Now with Freedom250 it's as Herman's Hermits sang: "Second verse, same as the first." Good music will be replaced by a terrible rally. Isn't that nice?

What's really amazing is that he only went to the late 1980s and early 1990s. I would have expected him to go to the 1950s.
This is true! But also theres been a whole lot of great music, art, film,
movies, and theater since 1992!
