For men (or women) who want to be seen as tough & strong (as evidence of masculinity) there are many role models they could follow that don't involve violence: Firefighters, paramedics and other rescuers that save peoples lives. The linemen (& women) who are going out on freezing nights to restore electrical power. Rescuers who save people in floods. Certified Nursing Assistants at psychiatric hospitals who must restrain violent patients without injuring them. Let's give the rescuers in our communities more recognition and praise.
We don't go to work anymore the way we used to. Except those in the helping professions and those employed by the hospitality industry, we are no longer working elbow to elbow where we are facing people who may dp the same work we do, and whom we have to cooperate with to get the job done, but who may have totally different backgrounds and belief systems. I work from home, and my co-workers are, for the most part, names but not personalities. Our comfort zone used to encompass a much larger spherer.
These clowns, like their militia brothers, are the product of arrested development. They have a 6 year old's idea of a tough guy. They think if they are not telling everyone how tough they are every minute of the day someone might think they aren't. Give a 6 year old a toy gun and what does he do? He shoots everyone in sight...what fun is a gun if you can't shoot it.
These "tough guys" are suppose to be arresting the "worst of the worst", instead they're murdering mothers and detaining 5 year olds. If someone told them they would soon be encountering some of those "worst" they would immediately wet their pants and cry for their mommies.
Here's a clue for your ICE recruitment drive...the guys who really, really want to be ICE agents are exactly the guys you SHOULDN'T be hiring!

All the ICE videos may cause minor PTSD. I know it is screwing with my sleep. So far the protests I have attended have not involved ICE.
