What a great spirit was displayed in that rally! The people figured out that fighting with a sense of humor works well. Their efforts show that America does not need to be made great - it and its people already are!
So proud of Portland! So proud of Minneapolis! And so proud of I'm sure it was 8M+ who knew it was important to step out, no matter where, no matter for how long, just do it!!! I noticed the maga naysayers making disparaging remarks about the protesters on some of the YouTube video reports, have no idea what they were looking at or if they were looking at anything at all. But all they have are sneers and jeers. Kinda like their small sad leader. We have joy, compassion, heart, hope, togetherness, brother-and-sisterhood, faith and moral clarity. Plus ingenuity, perseverance and a sense of humor! Wonderful article, Tim - and I love the videos, they make me smile!
I attended an event in a tiny Virginia village about five miles from my own even tinier village. There were between 2 and 3 hundred people, friendly, kind and somehow even joyous with great speakers, music, lots of flags and signs and patriotism! I haven't experienced the big-city version of No Kings, yet and I'm sure that our event didn't get counted in the grand scheme of things. So...add another three hundred to that 8 million, please!
I live in a semi-rural "old" fishing village of about 1100-1200 residents. Bodega Bay, CA is a popular tourist destination, so our population swells and shrinks during holidays and hot inland temperatures. We have held all three No Kings protests. We had about 250-300 attendees at the No Kings 3 protest. There is Indivisible Sonoma County, and Bodega Bay is in Sonoma County. I'm sure that our numbers have been included in the count. Proud!
I moved to Portland from SoCal ten years and was gobsmacked at the kindness and friendliness of Portlanders, esp. in comparison to what I’d left behind.
Thank you, Tim. I especially loved the short videos. They help us to be there, in Portland, at the protest. Lovely to see. I was at the flagship rally in St. Paul, MN, and I was jealous that those in Portland had room to move around and see things. We were squashed in like sardines in St. Paul, but happy to have summoned the huge crowd of support, nonetheless.
Thank you for including the demonstration at the Convention Center, which was billed as Labor and Neighbors. Most media outlets ignored it, as well as the ongoing weekly “corner protests.” By downplaying and lowballing the big demonstrations too, it’s almost as if the legacy media is trying to shut down resistance to the regime. We won’t let them!
So happy to see this post about my city! I was at one of the corner protests in my Contrarian T-shirt, along with well over 1000 people. And yeah, no one from any of the local media stations covered it, at least that I could see. The cars driving by were extremely enthusiastic, and some had their own signs. Hope we got counted.
So glad you profiled my wonderful city of Portland. I didn’t march in Portland but chose to March in a nearby, more conservative suburb, as I figured in Portland one is preaching to the choir. We had a great turnout, and the many vehicles driving by answered with their horns to our yells of shared excitement.
All protest demonstration should take place in front of the local offices of Republicans. The demonstrations should call out the Republicans for supporting Trump's lies, his use of ICE as his private army and his war of choice with Iran.
The Appeals Court lifted the TRO that stopped ICE from using tear gas and pepper balls. Saturday night, ICE shot pepper balls at protestors who had gathered at the ICE facility. I believe the lawsuit against ICE using chemical and non-lethal weapons continues, and there is talk of fining the building owner.
Great photos! Great story! Hope is making a comeback.
Hope-Amine to the rescue!
Portland needs some joyous comedy to flood its collective cranium.
Thanks for sharing Tim. Great story!
This is brilliant! So inspiring. So creative. Thank you and thank all the people who protested. We're just getting started.
The best of America!

Wow! Watching all that creativity and energy makes me wish I lived in Portland.

Proud of my city! All over Portland we were say ENOUGH!! Thanks for this great write up and all the videos. Loving the OG Frog!
I second that, what a great write up.
Great reporting on the vibe in Portland, Tim🐸

I agree, we need to be calling out them in congress, as they are the ones who allow this to happen. Mass protests to their offices in DC
The Chicken Man! 🥰
