Yes, absolutely Kamala Harris was right about everything, but this country was too macho, too racist, too ignorant to vote for her. Instead, we have a convicted felon, a pathological liar and epic narcissist as authoritarian "leader" of the US (actually, only of "his" people). Voting is a privilege not to be used haphazardly. It should be used wisely if democracy is to prevail in our country.

I do wonder if the "but Gaza" argument by nonvoters (or third-party voters or secret Trump voters) was a convenient excuse for their aversion to her ... funny laugh.

To all the naysayers, look where we are now. I keep thinking about the WW2 paragraph that has several sentences that says they came for these people, but I was not one of that group so I remained silent. In the end when they came for them and there was no one left to speak up, because they were all gone. (they were taken previously).

One of Kamala’s greatest enemies was time. If she had more of it she might have convinced more people and won.

I think you and she are giving voters too much credit. Everyone knew who Donald Trump was. For four years, we watched him call the sitting president every name in the book and trumpet what he'd be doing if only he had legitimately won in 2020. He called criminals saints. He called public servants satan. The rhetoric got worse and worse.

After four years of Joe, everyone knew what the alternative was: the opposite of that. Everyone knows the story of America's birth, and how we had to do what needed to be done to oust the imperalists. I don't care what intervening issues bugged them, voting, and voting against Trump was what needed to happen.

Nope, voters in this country are way to sexist, racist and ignorant to vote for a woman. Worst of all are all those good "christian" women who would never vote for someone like Kamala. And then, of course, there are all those envious women. Women are women's worst enemies, at least in these divided United States.

Not here, we're not! Feminists forever! Grateful to hear from you and Michelle anytime.

You are right. I would rather see a woman president anytime. Hillary is more intelligent than her husband and she would have made a great president. Kamala is whip smart also and would have (will?) make a great president. That's why it's sp galling that so many women in this country will never vote for another woman.

As long as they don't turn out like Angela Merkel. She got all the kudos, but according to my relatives in Germany, she really didn't do anything for 16 years, other than to cut taxes for the rich and let in all those refugees that Germany was in no way prepared for, especially not the bureaucracy.

I agree with you on hearing from you and Michelle.

Thanks for the insider anecdote from Germany. We don't get that perspective from the news. Well, my friend, I doubt we'll see another viable female presidential candidacy in our lifetimes. The try/fail period looks to be taking much longer than anticipated.

Cruelty & chaos, hunger games, terrorizing kids & protecting pedophiles: Christian values?

Judges rule that Trump admin must use contingency funds for SNAP benefits while Trump & Co mock their base & the needy.

Get up, stand up & resist the fraudster authoritarians.

Um... no, she didn't "give voice" to these things, she called them to everyone's attention. "Give voice" means to express that thought, not to call it out for censure!

The collective response was that something, anything, was more important than civility, democracy, and care for our fellow citizens. Prioritizing suffering folks in another country only harmed us right here at home. Take care of our own house first so we may take care of others.

In particular, I can't help wondering how many of those macho Latino men who couldn't bring themselves to vote for a woman - and so voted in record numbers for Trump instead - have already been snatched off the streets and brutalized without any regard for their citizenship, or have friends and family to whom that has happened...

... and how many white Trump voters are suddenly wondering how they are going to feed their families next week....

... and how many white farmers actually believed that "other countries" would pay the tariffs...

... and so on.

Of course if they are dead or homeless a year from now, I guess they won't be able to vote anyway. Assuming anyone else can.
