The minorities that have been “bitching” in American public discourse more than any other in the 21st Century are white evangelical protestants. They are about 13 percent of the population (PRRI), coincidentally about the same as blacks. They are constantly claiming they have been discriminated against and unfairly treated, and that they are oppressed victims of a “culture war”. Should we urge them to give up their citizenship and move (to Hungary perhaps?) and make fun of how they look?
Racist white people cannot stand that black people have survived 400 years of oppression. Skin color and hair texture do not bestow intelligence or morality. Racist white people prove that every day by their incompetency and cruelty. White supremacists are angry because they have not succeeded in convincing anyone of their superiority. They are the true snowflakes because they have wealth and power but are still miserable.
That Mike Davis and his ilk have their mitts of the levers of power is disturbing but, sadly, not surprising. Thank you for this eloquent rebuttal.
