I'm glad to read that you recognize some of us are readers, not watchers. Looking forward to seeing more written content!

Thanks for providing his writing. Many prefer that to videos 🙂

What we need is a way to subscribe to a bunch of Substack folks for a fee (like subscribing to a particular newspaper, in the "olden" days). I would pay $120 (like for the NTY) for, say, 10 (7? 5?) contributors (e.g., HCR, Krugman, Robert Reich, +). Or even better, maybe some set price for a group of contributors who name themselves something ("Contrarians United," whatever?). I'm making this up, but you get the idea.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who cannot handle trying to support all the (many!!) talented, brilliant, insightful (etc., etc.) contributors at $80 a pop - that is plain old unsupportable. Please consider a Contributors' Pool where those folks share in the (higher and probably much larger?) ultimate $ pool.

PS I am "share(ing) to Notes" although I don't know what that means...

What a good suggestion, Karin! I have had to unsubscribe from some good ones because I can’t afford to subscribe to them all.

Many of these writers do have free content. You can’t comment which may not necessarily be a bad thing. I do have to deal with the guilt the daily entreaties to subscribe creates…

It is difficult for a working person to listen and watch video. It is much better to have printed matter. You could have a transcript of your videos and this would make them more available

Pam Birkenfeld's avatar

See Irina’s comment below. The transcripts are available for all videos, just not immediately.

I actually enjoy both. I listen, not necessarily watch the video , while multitasking.

Agree, more writing and fewer videos, please.

All videos are available, if not immediately, then shortly. So one can read an interview/discussion at leisure. The transcript option can be found underneath the video. I pause/stop a video, then click on the Transcript button. Voila! As for Mr. Malinowski, he is truly informative and clear sighted. I'd love to have him back in government.

With limited time, and belief in The Contrariam, I like the variety of voices you bring to the Contrarian. I like hearing from Tom and reading his contributions, too. Collectively you all help me do a better job of understanding what is true ... and to help me suport democracy, our country, humanity ... and push back against the evil empire.

Cracks in the maga base are growing: this powerful song written by a country and western singer who grew up in Texas tells about burning his red hat, speaking about how it now carries the “shadow of shame” and shares the remarkable chorus “I won’t stand with a man who divides and deceives.” Let’s help it go viral! https://youtu.be/qtt-DhGs89w

Thank you, one and all!

Thank you. We need to swell the ranks of the resistance.

Thank you thank you to all doing whatever to save us! I am grateful because I am not able to do much more than send $, a little at a time. Write letters (but am baffled with both of our senators & our reps are so right wing they are like writing to deaf people who do not even pretend to represent anyone not MAGA), & protest with signs that say what we wish we could say to them in person.

Thanks, I love to hear your stories and the push to hold on to our sanity and rule of law or democracy which ever comes first! God bless you all, keep showing us, shut-ins and aging, hope for what we've always thought was good and helpful.

His pieces are some of my favorites, thank you for spotlighting him

I was proudly represented by Tom in NJ-7. Now we’re stuck with a nepo baby Trumper hack. Yuck.

Tom Malinowski is a favorite. A first read when I'm short on time.
