Thanks, The Contrarian, and hello all. I get great responses from you. A chart showing the debt ceiling over time looks a lot like The Himalayas! https://theystandcorrected.substack.com/p/debt-hypocrisy-and-fema-funding-amid No matter where anyone stands on debts and deficits, we should all be able to agree that a person who votes in ways that raise them should not be described as "deficit hawks." Let's give actual hawks a little more respect than that. ;)

The GOP refers to themselves as “conservatives” then they have redefined the term just like they do other things such as “pro-life”. They are conserving aristocracy only to make themselves richer. When they use these terms on a political ad they have already told you a big fat lie.

The GOP has taken the word conservative, and tortured, mutilated, and twisted it, into something it never had been before. And they are happy about it.

This like a million % and Republicans are at it again after voting for this deficit busting bill no one wants they are now screaming about the deficit as they go to vote on $9 billion in recissions which I am pretty sure are illegal.

Yes, the corporate media have been lying to us for decades, framing EVERYTHING from the rightwing, Republican perspective. Which is why we're here, with "here" being an incipient fascist autocracy with Trump in office, and also here on the non-corporate media we so badly need like The Contrarian.

If only.... Corporate media is more interested in their bottom line than journalism. Action should count more than words - but not anymore.

I well remember how Trump overspent his first term. And I still am shocked at this Big Ugly Act with its debts, deficits and horrible actions.
