Good to see students out there.

I would like to see many more videos from around the country. Is there really a marked reduction in shoppers everywhere, or are the ignoramuses out in full force, as usual?

Yes, videos of protests around the country inspire us to join in. Also, it's uplifting.

It depends on where you live. I had to get some basics in the Chicago area. (Chocolate is a necessity.) I always use the mom and pop store instead of the big box chains like Heinens/Marianos. I prefer to see the faces of parents I've worked with over the years as an educator and say thanks for trusting me with your kid/ how are they now? The city itself got a lot of crap from some of the MAGA parents, and it was all over the news before yesterday.

You HAD to get those things on May 1? You couldn't get them on April 30 or May 2?

Unfortunately, yes.

As one student said, the way our [gov't] spends our money should reflect our values.

The economic boycott needs to be more than a single day. I realize that people cannot walk out of work every Friday. Perhaps we might extend "no shopping to every Friday in May? No shopping, no takeout food, no dining out?

Easier said than done. People need childcare/for kids to be in school. People need to support the mom and pops. Targeting the big box stores is 1 thing. But people still need to support the small places. I'd encourage people to be selective in the no shopping/no takeout/no dining out. It's a great way to help those in need. Buy food for the shelters/food pantries/community fridges. Buy diapers for the local diaper bank. Take that favorite coffee/tea to the educators.
