1000%. Someone should put up a video reel of some of the thousands of vile and dangerous things she’s said and done. Top of the list is Jan 6

Leopards don't change their spots. Marjorie is the same person today as yesterday and the day before. Though I live in Georgia, I don't (thankfully) live in her district. But I support every candidate that runs against her.

What a shame that some of us can't take the wins when we get them. MTG's move away from Trump is a win. Welcome it. And have we no better use for our time than criticizing Jon Stewart? This is not helping anyone's life.

I'll always remember this trashy woman for harassing Mr. David Hogg, a Parkland mass shooting survivor, on his way to the Capitol to give a witness account.

I'll always remember greene as the one shouting profanities to President Biden.

I'll always remember greene as the best mate of that other trashy one named boebert.

And then there is the Jewish space laser, the gazpacho police and some more beauties.

This brainless madam is only trying to save her seat.

I resent all people that ever voted for this person.

Such mention of "the importance of forgiveness" is blithe, a good sound bite or video clip, but what else? Does it address the importance of honest engagement on the part of those being forgiven? Do they examine their words and actions, and disavow them? Realize how they affected others? Do they commit to amends and changes in future?

Forgiveness is a two way street. Not so easy, is it?

Forgiveness is not a vote. They think they can say that and we'll recline.

Now that the House has passed the bill to order the release of the Epstein files, the Senate has been shamed into passing it as well after Trump basically told them all to do it without fear of retribution, Ms. Marjorie's position is now not overly relevant. She, like Trump, is more out for her own glory and spotlight. As others have said, leopards don't change their spots, nor zebras their stripes. She does what she thinks will benefit her in the moment.

OK, but haven't we been waiting, praying, looking for someone of repube brain to realize uh oh maybe we're wrong here. I will let her fly her new self for now...

MTG is not becoming a moderate, but I’d much rather she represent the conservative populists in her district than support the organized crime family running the country.

I appreciate this reminder of MTG above... but I think hammering her is not the correct response. We should welcome a change if it is so. Give her plenty time to show it, to repent, not only in words. People do evolve, and maybe even suddenly like Saul on the Road to Damascus. That should be praised not hammered. But she has a lot to do to convince us, not so fast..and much repair. Let's see it. Give her room.

She has to walk the walk & prove that she is a reformed ass hole.

We can use everyone, even former assholes- if they have some genuine awakening. But we should not make it hard for her to demonstrate. We will know if she really wants to cross over.We should welcome her regardless taking one more of them away from.. and providing an example. Sounds fantastic? Could happen. Why should we act like ass holes?

She'll renege, and we all have something to lose. We just have to wait to see how she votes. If she does what she SAYS she'll do, well, then, we might begin to open the doors of trust. Until then, she's still Space Laser Greene. I'd like to see her get together a group of House reps to oust Mike Johnson and put in reasonable person who will file impeachment charges against Trump. That might be a good first start.

"I’m a Christian and one of the most important parts of our faith is forgiveness."

As a fellow Christian I always respond with - your actions say otherwise.

Don't fall for it folks unless she shows real contrition by apologizing in person to the children she stalked and harassed after the Parkland, FL high school shooting, apologizes in person to Nancy Pelosi for her vitriol towards her and calling her a traitor to the USA, apologize to the LGBTQ community for spewing hatred and venom, apologize to the Jewish and Muslim community for her anti Muslim and Jewish commentary, show real contrition for her role in the January 6 insurrection, apologize in person to Joe Biden for her behavior during the State of the Union addresses as well as her comments about him over the years.

There are many more examples of things for which she needs to apologize and show she really means it this time, but I am not holding my breath.

Real Christians don't need to tell you they are Christians. Their actions tell you if they actually live their Christian values, and her actions tell me otherwise.

I am not fooled and will not give her any grace and do not trust anything she says.

Ronald Ray-gun occasionally made some sense. Speaking of the SALT agreements with the Russians he said "Trust, but verify"

Sociopaths don't do loyalty. They don't do consistency. Hypocrisy? Just a word. Whatever they have to do to get what they want -- money, power, attention, you name it -- they will do. And if necessary, tomorrow they'll do the exact opposite.

I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that she did some shrooms or ayahuasca or some other mind-altering drug that can cause an awakening to the world and pull some people out of narcissism. I'm going to wait and watch. She doesn't have my support, but it's also not worth my energy right now to bash her. Let's at least give her enough time to walk the walk that she's talking, before we say all the talking is a lie. I know they all lie, but this is wildly different than what we've seen before with most.

Tangentially, remember how Lindsay "Lady G" Graham used to be respectable-ish? I never expected myself to miss McCain, and yes even W, this much.

Your MLK, Jr. quote says it all. Thank you for your excellent story that shows MTG for what she is: leopard? Zebra? Sea Squirt?

Wendy horgan's avatar

Great MLK quote - "absence of tension" and use of family Thanksgiving metaphor for all we need is love.

So count me as another 100% who says NO to MTG. Love has nothing to do with it. She's a member of the US Congress and in that role is being held to account for her vile actions and policies.

I suggest that you read John Lewis, and the recent David Greenberg bio. I know of no one with stronger Movement bona vides, and to his dying day, he was totally committed to loving ALL of his neighbors.
