I have a neighbor with a lot of steps to their front door who has hired one of these pumpkin businesses for the past two years. It looks great, but I bet there are at least 60 gourds. I spotted a woman at Trader Joe’s hauling three cartloads of pumpkins out the door a couple of weeks ago, too. She probably tells her customers they are organic exotics from local farms, too!

Gourds make no sense to me. For what? Why waste space in your garden? if anyone gives me gourd seeds for our farm, I toss them. I can't eat gourds! I guess if you're a Native American who made eating containers out of them ok, but why would I want any gourds? But them, I don't like Halloween and have no pumpkins either. Bring on Hannukah!
