Oh, those good evangelical "christians" ARE true believers. As long as everyone else lives by the bible. They, themselves, are excluded from that requirement, of course.

"Too often, the oppressed are asked to address their oppression, instead of the oppressed hearing from those who have the privilege of being unscathed."

Look what it did for Colin Kaepernick.

Agree totally. Instead of preaching at our black and brown neighbors, perhaps we could listen to them. I get a bit uncomfortable when we find ourselves counting once again on their votes, asking them to save us from ourselves. Again.

Right, white people act as if Trump's racism is a revelation. The Obama attack was for their benefit, not black people's. It was just another unsuccessful distraction from the Epstein files. MAGA "why are you still talking about that? What's really important is that we hate black people".

QAnon was a lie--the Dems did not run a child sex trafficking ring out of a DC pizza restaurant. However, the Epstein files are very real. Hundreds of rich white men (the only black participant I've seen written about is Clarence Thomas) sexually abused and tortured women and children with no legal consequences. 44th President Barack Obama, 2009 Nobel Peace Prize awardee, is not in the Epstein files.

Thank you for a very powerful essay. If only Trump supporters would read it!

Unfortunately right wing ideological evangelical “Christian’s” are not able to respond favorably to active progressive Christians. Their arrogance is too deep. We have learned to be self critical but they have not. It’s beyond Tragic.

Exactly who we should be asking. Not only is it racist it’s also childish.

The other piece no one is talking about is AI. AI generated that image. AI has incorporated our collective racism.

Christians have turned Christianity into the scourge of the earth.

I’m not sure how the Evangelicals who support Trump can call themselves Christians when they follow un-Christian leaders and practice un-Christian values. It is the height of hypocrisy. You cannot select the Christian values you like and ignore the rest. It is all or nothing.

Another spot-on article. I always appreciate your directness and not beating around the bush.
