At Trump’s command, the Texas GOP’s redistricting maps strip voting power away from Black Texans and are an insult to us all — regardless of partisan stripes.
If you let Texas radicals do anything, and don't match their gerrymandering seat for seat, they win YOUR state in this dead serious gamble. It's time for the Union to stand together against Texas radicals! Don't just say "Chicago will save us, New York and California will save us." Only ALL patriots, working together, will save Old Glory. Your ancestors DIED for the Union it stands for. You can call your representatives and demand anti-Texas gerrymandering, if that's what it takes.
My city of Corpus Christi (Nueces Co.) is also to be split. TX is already gerrymandered as is--we should have independent redistricting after the ten year census and not at a president's request.
I've typically advocated decently representative districts in my own strongly Democratic state.
RELUCTANTLY, I feel myself NOW leaning toward supporting gerrymandering to favor redistricting designed to eliminate Republican election wins after this offensive Republican effort.

Yes and no. Yes, we should all be pissed that both political parties play this game at all. And no...for the exact same reason. The primary goal of both Dems and Repubs is power - acquiring, maintaining and expanding it by any means possible.
So, yeah, Billy, go on with your partisan rant about something both parties do on a recurring basis. Meanwhile, those of us who hate partisanship will continue to get screwed over and never heard. You'll pay us lip service only around election time.
Again and again, the GOP is demonstrating that BIOPCs are only wanted when their votes are needed to gain or retain power. In the case of Texas, the GOP does not need them, and they will show them.
