Please add to your headline, Jen.

"Republicans are Rigging Maps for More Congressional Seats . .. . . . . . and no one bothers to stop or change it.

Then, Jen, within the article explain to the readers that our government does not work, with or without gerrymandering, and propose needed changes to make it work again.

Allen vs Milligan was decided by SCOTUS in 2023. In a 5-4 decision Alabama’s gerrymandered district violated the VRA. So District 2 was redrawn. Alabama now has 2 U.S. congressional districts that are blue. Districts 2 and 7.

These posts stood out for me:

[1] "Even in red states, all the polling shows that voters don't like this effort"

[2] "...Democrats have to look for creative solutions here to be able to counteract this."

[3] "It's possible to envision a world in which you create more competitive districts by virtue of dismantling some of these districts."

I have never heard Oregon and Washington mentioned. What’s up with them?

Ari mentioned something that hadn’t occurred to me. SCOTUS deferred ruling on the Louisiana case until this term - a time of maximum Republican gerrymandering. This may sound like a conspiracy theory, but do they intend to eviscerate the VRA so Republicans can gain an insurmountable lead in the House? The timing is very suspicious.

Trump is carrying out a complete assault on the Great Society, voting rights act, civil rights act, fair housing act, Medicaid, Foodstamps, Head Start, PBS, NPR, etc. The only major thing he has not attacked yet is Medicare.

I consider that he has attacked Medicare because so much cut from Medicaid causes increased costs in Medicare and the health care system.
