I can’t believe I’m saying this but I liked the Jesus ad. It had some good messages, like you don’t have to be a bully to be powerful, things sort of like that. I was hopeful that at least because it was about Jesus that some might pay attention and be reminded of what Christianity supposedly is about. Not about what they’re saying it’s about now.

Thanks for the recap. I skipped the stupid bowl in favor of attending a real athletic event: the ballet.

Since I am agnostic, I would prefer discussion of doing good for all and not leaning on a particular "faith"!

I loved the Jesus ad too (and I'm not of that persuasion). Whoever those people are that are willing to put out those big bucks to talk to people about being kind and compassionate - good on them. and thanks Eric for the laugh(s) we needed that

Sadly… the org who brought this ad is founded by the Hobby Lobby jerks. So… “Jesus loves and respects all—but we don’t have to.” Kind of taints the message for me.

I am actually disturbed by the "Jesus" ad, which has been played on TV numerous times prior to Super Bowl. Think about it: does Moses "get us"? How about Buddha? This Christian slant is not about being kind. It's about leaning Christian. We have heard about having Bibles, or prayer, or 10 commandments displayed in schools. Let us keep religion and government forever separated so that faith continues to be a private and personal choice.

Being an avid Super Bowl commercial fan, my compulsion to watch the commercials without noisy interruptions was mostly ignored. I even told them to hold the talking until the game came on. My favorites included the Budweiser foul rolling the barrel to catch up to the wagon, Meg and Billy, and the Pizza Rolls with the cute alien who got struck in the door. The game was ok too, although the fact the Eagles sacked Mahomes more often than in an entire regular season, and intercepted a ridiculous amount of passes made it more exciting than it normally would have been. Congratulations Eagles! I am a Denver Broncos fan but since they weren't playing I was rooting for my 2nd favorite team - The Chiefs, but the Eagles had a great season and won fairly. See, we "liberals" can be kind and good sports when we lose. Better luck next time.

This is the satire we need. Well done, Eric.

I was gifted a subscription. Every time I tried to open it it asked me to upgrade to paid. I sent several emails. Crickets. I told the person who gifted me the subscription what was happening (nothing) and she wrote the Contrarian. No luck. This is not a good look.

I thought the breast cancer screening ad was wonderful. Without saying it, they reminded people "my eyes are up here." And were very funny.

Its looking to me like the Jesus ad did no good whatsoever. But hoping it is true for Rump, Musk and their slimy crews " Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord, I will repay"

Snarky. I have seen Philly fans beat up children with NY jerseys. They are vicious. But ironically, I have seen my W Philly street people wander the aisles of a stadium game and there were many hands reaching out to help (although I do not believe this is the right kind of help). Orange Mussolini and Leon Mush maybe ought to sit in the aisles instead of the boxes - f’ing arrogant a’holes.
